For those of you thinking JR is out of touch with the modern NFL:

This is an important article if its true imo. It makes me a little more optimistic amid the craziness that is this week.

But he's still old and outta touch in many respects...ask anyone who was at his big speech at the opening NFL owners-gm meeting before this season started. He was blabbering and cursing for a good 20 minutes about nothing. Polian and Goodell actually got a good chuckle out of it.

...and for those of you arguing that the press conference was not a mess, why would he be apologizing if he thought it went well?

You may have agreed or been entertained with what he was saying, but from a PR standpoint it was a disaster.

All Tomlinson wanted was to be noticed, a little tender loving care, and maybe a pork chop, and he does a 180 on JR.

I didn't see where JR admitted anything about the presser was a mess. He merely stated "It was not my intention to be rude, or disrespectful, or not answer questions". (Even though he did answer all of the questions asked of him).

I just think its funny we are interviewing John Fox version 2.0 and expecting things to change.

Head coach matters

1 problem with that, hes not John Fox. as much as you and some of the other people that want the Panthers to make noise with our next head coaching hire, they are not alike. Maybe you should look him up, or listen to him talk, and what he has to say about his approach to the game.

That is not Tomlinson's style nor consistent with his other articles. The ress conference was a disaster and everyone across the country said as much. Unless you are his press agent, why keep up the front that everything was fine. It was an unmitigated disaster.
