Cam Newton looking better and better!

I understand those of you that think he's not an NFL QB but I hope you guys can shake your fear for once since great reward comes only through risk.

i hope that you dont talk about taking some risks at 1st ovr in terms of drafting a one-year-wonder who was decent in the bowl game, at best.

IF Luck does not declare this franchise has to go with a PROVEN offensive player at the QB position. I don't know of any elite level players that are free agents other than Vick (Don't say Kolb:rolleyes:). The guy has won two different championships with two different teams and won the Heisman.

1.kolb does have a contract, at least through 2011.

2.he won those titles, yes...the first one was at some JUCO and the bowl yesterday wasnt won on his arm...

If he learns NFL footwork he may become even more of a beast. We've had less of a QB (athletically and arm wise) and gone to the Super Bowl so why not Cam? We will have one of the best defenses in the league anyway so why not. You CAN pick him at three, maybe, and gain another pick for Fairly but he may not last.

i dont see any franchise trade up for your pick. newton at 3rd, especially after that game yesterday, ist just ridiculous.

and why are u so sure about your defensive improvement? wade philips is a good DC but the cowboys D sucked big-time this year...you need immediate help and the next best option is fairley b/c he should be an impact from day one...newton will need at least one if not even two seasons to grow....i saw how "much" patience some guys had with clausen during the season...why should they have any patience with cam?

You don't want to be the team that passed on Jordan. Don't be scared my brothers.

do you wanna blame every team that passed on brady or romo???

Footwork can be improved not as big a issue as you make it out to be.

It's harder than you think. Plus, if you've never taken a real drop before it'll be hard to read the defense and drop back. He'll have to turn his back to the defense on play action then be able to turn back around and make the correct read.

Keep in mind he has to learn all of this from scratch because he hasn't done it at all.

LOL seeing how most college scouts and NFL scouts say its not a reason to not draft him I think I will take there word over your opinion.

Saying it is fine and saying it is a reason not to draft him are two different things.

He needs serious work. He can be drafted, just not very early.

You might be the only person in the country that believes that

Like I told you before, go back and look at those clips from when Cam was healthy. Pay particular attention to the plays where he just drops back and passes. If you ignore the plays where he does that jump forward to fake a run or fakes those sideways hand offs, which he will never ever do in the NFL BTW, his footwork and accuracy are pretty damn good.

He wasn't hurt the first drive of the game. I've watched nearly every game this year. I said the same thing before this game and I'll continue to say it. His footwork is an issue as well as his accuracy.

You must not be paying close attention then. Either that or you're just hard headed.

Sure, his footwork is not perfect every time, but neither is Peyton Mannings'. In fact, one of the marks of a good QB is how well he can throw from awkward positions. Not every play is going to go perfectly, so sometimes you have to improvise, like Newton did on that play where he slipped and had to make a throw with just his arm in the NC game. I've seen Brett Farvre do the same thing before. His footwork was horrible on that play but he got the job done anyway.

I am not talking about that play. I gave credit to him for that play in my write up.

If you read my write up I went over play-by-play of the NC game and wrote down my comments. When he's in shotgun he just shuffles his feet and doesn't take a drop. It actually played a role in the sack/fumble because he wasn't in position to make a throw.

What I'm going to ask you to do is go read my play-by-play commentary on the game then find specific plays to dispute and talk about. Don't show me a highlight video, it's called that for a reason. If you don't want to do that you can watch an entire game, make your own play-by-play commentary of at least 10 straight drives and I will read it and go watch the game and we can talk about it.

If not don't tell me that "usually" or "normally" his footwork and accuracy is good because it's not.

Sound good?

We get it dude... you don't like him. Your going to ignore the good and focus on the bad even if it means stretching the truth.
