In all reality, Darron Thomas made more NFL-caliber throws than Cam Newton did last night.

Say no to Cam please come on guys for the #1 overall if no one will trade the obvious is Green and I'd be half happy with a DT. IF we can trade to the very late first then maybe have a look. I think we can get more picks and trade the #1 overall, we just won't get very much but a mid-late first and second is realistic.

Nothing he could do at Auburn would prepare him more for the pros. He would just continue doing more of the same. He's not an NFL QB right now, and the only thing that will change that is going to learn an NFL system with a good QB coach.

That and he needs to sprint from that program as fast as he can before the hammer drops.

Maybe you should have watched a couple more of his games instead of judging on one game where the opponent has had a month to figure out how to stop him.

If Newton had ANY shot at the #1 pick he had to rise above it all today and let his play declare "I am the best player in football. I'm taking over this game."

We saw nothing of the sort. He needed a Vince Young, Rose Bowl MVP type performance. He was so far removed from that it's untrue.

Cam Newton was a big dissapointment in the game last night in my opinion. His athleticism wasn't impressive against a speedy opponent and some of the throws he made were downright terrible.

I'm not saying Newton couldn't be a solid starting QB in the NFL with some work, but we've already got a project at QB, does anyone really want to take on another one? I would rather see us trade our 3rd round pick for an established veteran then use it on a project like Newton.

like others have said, if Newton wanted to be the number one pick, he didnt play like it, i am NOT saying he's not a 1st round pick or he will suck in the NFL, but i AM saying that he's NOT the number one overall pick. i think Mallett and Gabbert are now over him.

I think Newton has some promise, but drafting him # 1 overal would be a HUGE reach.

In my opinion, we need to take Nick Fairley or Patrick Petersen with that pick.

Cam or AJ Green we have to go offense with the pick imo this guy is just a winner. I think he'll find a way to help whatever team draft hims in the win column.
