Cam Newton looking better and better!

You didn't, but if this is what we can expect from him if he's bottled up and can't run then I didn't see anything but a very average or even below average passer.

Maybe you should have watched a couple more of his games instead of judging on one game where the opponent has had a month to figure out how to stop him.

So he sucks because he didn't single handedly beat Oregon? You do realize that Oregon has been game planning for a month just to stop him, right?

I'm not saying the guy is the best QB that ever lived or anything, but he has potential out the ying yang. He certainly has more than The Golden Calf of Bristol, and he was a first rounder.

No - he doesn't even suck. That was directed entirely at people who have been running about spouting that he "lead Auburn to victory" or some business like that and using that "fact" as justification for our drafting him first overall. It's wrong and, this game not withstanding, he doesn't deserve to be a #1 overall pick. None of the QBs in this draft do....

Kid really needs to stay in school another year. He isnt pro ready.

He will never get pro ready by running that offense. He's spending too much time carrying out elaborate fakes to get his mechanics down. In fact, half the time those fakes are putting him in awkward positions and he can't even get his feet set before the rush gets there.

Alright, everyone knows Cam Newton is a great athlete. He looked great all season. He led his team to an undefeated season. He is a monster QB, that can run and pass. KT, noone is debating this, but you have to understand, as a #1 pick, this player needs to be almost flawless. I know you love this kid, I think we all do, but he isn't worthy of a #1 RIGHT NOW.

Some of his throws looked Jimmy Clausenesque. WAY overthrown. Sure, he can run it, but do we need a 4th running back. It might be the system, it might be the inexperience, but these question marks do not result in a #1 overall draft pick. Yes, we need a QB, but I don't want to sacrifice the 1 on an unproven talent.

I have a friend that is a diehard Auburn fan first, Panther fan afterwards. The type of fan that was at the championship game. I asked him what he thought about the #1 before these final games, he said...'Draft Fairley, he eats QBs for breakfast'. No mention of Cam Newton. Honestly, I trust his judgement with Auburn players. And he is Asian, so you can't get mad at him. ;)

KT and other Cam Newton bandwagoners, you have to admit, although a great athlete, he's not quite worthy of an overall #1 pick. I'd like to see him develop here, but I don't think it will happen.

Yea, after that game, he'd need a really good combine to pull my support back from Green. And I don't mean 40 times and bench presses, I mean drills and passing exercises. He wasn't bad in the game by any means, but there were obvious mistakes and we'd be getting SO much more value out of Green at #1.

Newton MAY be worth a late first round pick (just like The Golden Calf of Bristol).

But, there is NO way he is worth the #1 pick.

I watched 7 of his games this year.

He makes 80% of his plays with his legs....he seldom moves past his primary receiver before he runs....he is NOT ready to be an NFL QB.

There was absolutely NOTHING that Cam Newton did tonight that remotely resembled an NFL Quarterback...NOTHING!

Kid should stay in school.

Nothing he could do at Auburn would prepare him more for the pros. He would just continue doing more of the same. He's not an NFL QB right now, and the only thing that will change that is going to learn an NFL system with a good QB coach.

That and he needs to sprint from that program as fast as he can before the hammer drops.
