So who's next? Searching for a Carolina QB

Ryan Mallett officially just declared.

If he'd manage to finish that comeback against Ohio State his stock would be much higher.

I don't want to go into next season thinking that Clausen is the one we hang our hat on. No matter what direction we move in I think Clausen stays here and continues to be developed, but if he keeps blowing and showing little to no improvement I don't want to have to turn to Brian St. Pierre... or even Matt Moore.

I'd rather we have another good rookie talent, a good QB coach, and a good offensive scheme. If Clausen takes off, good. If he struggles, then maybe after a few games we can get the rookie some play, or we can put in a decent backup, whoever it may be. I just don't want to go into next season putting our hope in Clausen developing into a starting-quality QB.

Thanks to the server crash, I haven't tried to post all day. So I better say it all right here...

We need to face a fact, folks: NOBODY WILL TRADE UP WITH US. Why? There is not a single player worth trading up for. So forget your dreams of getting extra picks, or a player, in exchange for a team getting our pick. It ain't happening, period.

That said, if we truly need a QB here, do we really draft one of these other guys with the #1 pick? It seems insane. And more importantly, thanks to Armanti, we don't have a second round pick. Will any of these QBs be there in the third round if we don't go QB with the first pick? If we don't have faith in Clausen or Moore or a FA, that means we have to draft a QB first.

So I say draft a DT, sign a FA QB, and continue to be mediocre. That, sadly, is our best bet right now.

I could see Dalton going to the top of the third I guess, I don't know who else there is. Tyrod Taylor maybe? Yates? Not sure who else.

Maybe Iowa's Stanzi.

Cam could be monster to handle in a couple of years.We still need a scary wide out

Smith has been game planned for so much now that his size hurts him more than when he could just blow by people.If we don't get some of this taken care of in FA ,We'll

Your assessment is not one scouts agree with RE: Gabbert & Locker at all. I do not really know if I want to touch Locker, another guy at 6'2" 1/2... at least he has a better release... one of his biggest hits is decision making which has me concerned.

We may be able to trade down, especially if Bowers increases his stock in the coming weeks.

it's not as easy as signing orton. he's under contract so we're gonna need to trade for him... still the best chance to pick him up of the QBs under contract I think

probably not going to happen. Too bad there is no easy consensus #1 QB to pick from anymore.

Could end up being Gabbert though once all is said and done, and Cam may make a push as well if he has a monster championship game.
