Richardson has Ruined Our Franchise

This is the worst time ever to be a Panthers fan. We've never been so low. Honestly, I don't think we're gonna be that much better even if we TRY to win next season, possibly looking at another Top 5 pick, especially if QB isn't addressed at all.

Problem is, the #1 pick isn't nearly as valuable as it once was being that Luck stayed at school. First year in a long time that there wasn't a pretty consensus #1 pick going into the draft. Like I said the other day, holding that presser when he did, saying what he said, then leaking that we'd take Luck the same day - LOL, I told you we'd be left standing at the altar with egg on our face.

We are a laughingstock right now. We ARE the Lions right now. Scratch that, WORSE. They had several opportunities to draft a franchise QB, missed on one, made it on the other but he's injury prone.

We don't even have that opportunity.

Say what you want, but Cam Newton and Gabbert aren't gonna be franchise guys. This is the most useless draft in years in regards to the top of the draft.

Dilfer is reporting that Luck didn't want to come to Charlotte. So what changed since the Bowl game? If he already knew he didn't like Charltotte/Carolina before the Bowl, he would've just said he was staying in school then, if it was truly about getting his degree, it wouldn't have mattered anyway...

What changed? JR's dumbass held the most media-savvy presser known to man...

THIS

WELCOME TO Years and Years of Mediocrity Carolina!!!!!

This was or perfect shot of having a good chance in building a team that would be relevant for years!!!

History has shown that it is a fact to be consistently successful not you need Very good QB play. We will not have an opportunity like this again.

JR blew it and did not do everything possible to make it happen. In the end he thinks he is saving $$$ but it will cost him more $$$$ with the people who matter, us the fans!!! His financial plan is flawed, because people like me stop spending.

Why is it over.... We will have money tied up into a QB this year. He will draft one or sign one. With that said in 2012 he will not turn around a put $$$ into the position a 3rd year in a row.

We are not the worst team in the NFL, and if you think we will have the #1 pick next year then you are not being very honest with yourself!

Not to mention we have to face Brees and Ryan twice a year.....

And our coach.... yea lets see our defensive coach bring along whatever qb we have.

I've lost hope, I feel like I just lost a battle. The media & JR has defeated me. With the talent and strength of teams around the NFL I do not see us getting back to the superbowl anytime soon!

I guess we'll enjoy the middle of the pack like majority of the other franchises.

We all said either his plan would look genius or would backfire big time. Well, you see what it's done now.

He's a f**king idiot. If he would've kept his f**king mouth shut before Luck declared, we probably would be dealing with an entirely different scenario. Insulted Harbaugh, fans, etc.

This is pathetic. Get ready, we're the new Detroit Lions.

yea...Luck didn't know we were 2-15. Yea, Luck can't read. Yea, Luck had no idea we would pick him...JR really let the cat out of the bag. Detroit only wishes they had the success we have.

Lucks reluctance to declare tells you he is not ready for the NFL or hes a total dumb@ss for tuning down the cash we are offering him. JR's not cheap ask Pep. There is a reason we didn't get him this year.

doesn't help anything when you pretty much say "if you come out we'll draft you and not offer you a contract until the cba is reached and we can give you a deal within the rookie cap"

This.

Just as Jerry said today, paraphrased, offense matters blah blah blah. It is a new age with players. He didn't even have enough sense to wait until after Jan 15th or to have the common touch with Luck. He could have said what he needed to say totally differently, something along the lines of 'we here there is a great young talent at Stanford and we would welcome him to Charlotte to be part of something special'

Whatever.

My whole perception of him changed after the press conf.

What kind of a CEO gives a directive and an underlying does not follow it. If he gave the direction to Fox to 'play the young players' that is what should have happened or he should have taken immediate action, one way or the other. I think that answer by the way is utter bullshit.

I really don't think Luck's decision had anything to do with not wanting to play here. He just seems really hard-headed about getting his degree. I got that sense long before any of this happened. I don't care how bad you don't want to play for a particular team, you don't turn down that kind of money and risk it all like this over it. He had other reasons.

That was exactly the reason he stayed, if Denver or SF had the pick he's gone or if JR hadn't showed him he's a crazy man...
