What part of we wont be able to trade down without Luck there do people not get....

So I take it you've spoken with all of the other GMs in the league then? If there is a cap this year then the value increases further. Someone might like a guy like Peterson more than everyone else and want to make sure they get their guy.

Sir Cameron Newton: Leader of Men, Lover of Puppies...Esquire plays lights out in the BCS MNC, ESPN (needing a new darling) propels his stock to #1 status.

A team with serious QB needs offers us up a sizable package for the pick and we trade down and still get AJ Green or Nick Fairley.

Also, there is still 9 days for Luck to somehow change his mind (wishful thinking)

I think drafting a QB is a bad idea without Luck there. None of the others are anywhere near his talent level. And it's not like QB is our only need, although it is the main need. But I would rather do something like in 03 when we signed a ton of free agents whom worked out for us. Maybe trade for Kevin Kolb and some other guys and take a DT with the the #1 pick. Just throwing out ideas here, but we have all kinds of options at this point. We have plenty of money to spend on free agents and there are quite a lot of them out there this year. I don't see any of the QBs in the draft as franchise QBs. I don't think it's worth committing to any of them as such.

Trade that poo away, no need for an unsure number one pick. Trade down, take what you think fits, and call the shots from there. Personally, I want to see Tyrod Taylor on this team, the guy got skills.

With Luck not coming out, who wants to trade for it?

Cam Newton is seriously not the answer.

The dude's been surrounded by controversy his entire collegiate career, and has only dominated ONE season in the entire time he's played. (Sure, he ran over people at Blinn, but imagine what The Golden Calf of Bristol would've looked like there.)

There is a reason he's the fourth highest-rated QB in the Draft, even now that Luck has decided to return. According to Scouts, Inc. AND Todd McShay, he's behind Gabbert, Locker, and Mallett in that order.

Also, for you Newton lovers:

I'll go ahead and throw out (in response to @daverichard's comment) that no way Cats go Newton. Too many ?'s about character for Richardson
