link?

not trying to be an ass, but it's the 1st time ive ever seen that called.

No I don't have a link. I imagine it falls under the same rules dealing with kickers and punters...you can't hit'em because they are defenseless. You don't seriously think they are going to make up rules in the Superbowl do you? LOL.

Is the qb defenseless? Because that roughing call on AZ on Ben was abysmal.

Yes, they are. The ref blew the call with Warner's incomplete pass that was called a fumble. What I mean is that it should have never had to go to replay. It was clear that the arm was going forward. They have also called absolutely everything that they could possibly call against the Cardinals.

The only reason Warners arm was "going forward" was because he got hit in the side. He was just holding the ball out there and his arm went forward because of the momentum from the hit. That is a bullshit rule, especially if you want to interpret it that way.

kickers and punters are one thing, but the holder has the potential to become a blocker. they dont.

thats why im wondering.

never seen it called. have you?

it didnt even matter in this game, since they still ended up with 3, but this is something new to me, and im looking for details.

I can't remember it ever happening, much less being called. I'm only speculating based on how they want to protect players. A holder is pretty vulnerable when he's in that position and could probably get pretty fuged up if he takes a good hit.
