Mass Effect 3

I preordered mine for PC through amazon. Had it preloaded already so at 12:02 (because EA servers are clearly behind) I was in game. I didn't start the singleplayer and jumped into multiplayer for a bit. About 6 maps, only 3 enemy types(Geth, Cerberus, Reaper). Same 3 difficulties. They added the Spectre Pack in the store and the BioWare points crap for people who wanna buy their way through it.

Unfortunately, I think me3 multiplayer is pretty demanding on the internet. My internet dropped during every game I was in at around wave 5(out of 11). This didn't happen with the demo. Not sure if anyone else has this problem. Kind of peeved me a little since I played like 5 games but I couldn't level up since I'd disconnect. you don't get anything if you d/c or crash or whatever. Whatever the issue, I'm pretty sure it's on my end.

I think I'll start the singleplayer tomorrow. I have to edit my me2 savefile so wrex isn't dead anymore. I didn't import a me1 save into me2 and maybe I was being dumb and didn't see the option when I was choosing all the events from me1 like saving ashley vs kaiden.

commercials have intrigued me. how lost will I be if I just jump into the series now without any knowledge of what has happened in the first two?

You probably won't be completely lost but you'll have missed out on a lot. The first one lays out the world(galaxy?) you're in, your place in it and the main bad guys. The second continues the story revealing the intentions of the bad guys. And I'm assuming 3 is the big showdown with the bad guys.
