Panther Fans: Going crazy at the thought of landing this awesome innovative coach.... Then he's going to San Fran he will Fail.

49er Fans: Laugh at us on their message board and talk about how great JH is gonna be.... Now Miami swoops in and they are saying this just 1 hr after praising the guy

Now Miami fans are laughing at San Fran fans.... How quick we can change opinions.

Coaches salary don't count against the cap. I say get the best guys you can and pay them whatever you have to.

"Would you write a check for $11,441,000? I didn't think so. And then have to hire a new coaching staff and pay them? No?"

- Jerry Richardson, January 2011.

Yea, paying a college coach who you don't how much they can succeed in the NFL is just stupid. Almost as stupid as paying a #1 draft pick 50 mil guaranteed when they have never taken an NFL snap.

Yea, this is my take on it too. If we dont get Harbaugh or Luck it won't break my heart. Now if we can get both of them or just one of them resonably then ok. I know the coaching salary doesnt count against the cap but don't want to get into another player contract hostage situation. Don't believe the hype.

ah just saw that the 49ers only offered him 4.5 and the miami is going to offer him 8 with no state income tax thats a no brainer

According to the report, the Dolphins are prepared to make Harbaugh the highest-paid coach in the league with yearly salary between $7 and $8 million. The 49ers were believed to be negotiating based on the deal that former USC coach Pete Carroll struck with the Seahawks last year, one that pays him $6.5 million annually. The NFL Network, however, reported that the offer was $4.5 million a year.

How is luck a sure thing?

OK, nobody is a "sure thing," but the point is, he is as close as it gets according to people in the know. Some experts have even called him a "sure thing." Harbaugh is a ? on so many levels. I didn't want to get wordy because this subject has been beaten down, but few experts would doubt that Luck will be a successful pro QB. How successful is the only issue.
