No teams fighting over Fox?

^^that was a media ploy that who knows who created. It was published several times that Fox was the top coaching FA. of course, everyone thought there would be 10+ openings as well

Yeah, I posted a few pages back that the threat of the lockout is why there have been so few job openings with many teams filling their head coaching vacancies from within (excluding the bidding war for Harbaugh of course). But according to some, that was only an "excuse" as to why Fox hadn't found a job as an HC yet.

Couldn't possibly be because Gruden and/or Cowher don't want to coach a team right now...

Cowher came out with this today:

In a recent online chat with USA Today, former Steelers coach Bill Cowher dropped his strongest hint yet that he’s ready to return to coaching.

I’m open to listen to opportunities,” Cowher said.

Today, he said that he’s not quite there yet.

“I’m just not ready to jump back into it,” Cowher told Tim Ryan and Pat Kirwan of Sirius NFL Radio. “I want to be able to be chomping at the bit and be ready to go. That was just not the case. It was not an easy offseason. And I’ve got a good job at CBS so it was just not the right time.”

Cowher agreed that, in the end, the decision was family over football. “I appreciated Adam Schefter [of ESPN] having the insight to be able to put it the way it was,” Cowher said.

Of course the timing for this is quite dubious as the only Head Coachinig position currently available is with the Raiders.

reading broncos forums

drinking is an understatement

they are double-fisting the kool aid

If we had hired Fox coming we wouldn't be on here talking about how bad he did this year all we would be talking about is how great his reputation was and that he took his last team to the Super Bowl. Its the off season and teams need positive to cling to.
