No teams fighting over Fox?

how does this even pass as an argument?

the only guy being "fought over" right now is harbaugh, and i don't think anybody ever actually suggested fox would be fought over. it's nothing more than a purposeful mischaracterization of an opinion to drive home a point. of course the OP's post was strategically snarky/non-committal in its approach, so this can't really be rubbed back in his face if fox does land a decent job. well done.

There were references (on this board, on ESPN, in person around proverbial water coolers with homers I work with) all over to Fox being snapped up immediately after Carolina cut ties with him almost since it became clear we were not going to resign him. It's not been a recent phenomenon...

...just the fact that not only is he unemployed but doesn't seem to be a serious candidate for any HC jobs at the moment says that those references were wrong.

I don't really understand what makes people say that Fox and Fisher are some of the best coaches in the NFL.

Is it because they have both coached for a long time in one spot because the owners of the teams they are with are not as easily swayed by public opinion?

They are both average HC's at best.

They took their teams to one super bowl, and was lucky to have amazing teams that year with amazing heart. After that, everyone thought they were shoe-ins as great coaches.
