Do you think the panthers will not budge with #1 pick?

I know JR said he wants a face to the franchise and will probably not trade #1 pick. So with all this talk of Harbaugh possibly going to SF and other teams wanting him (Luck) real bad. Do you think JR can withstand the pressure of every pick in the world being thrown at you, just so you can possibly draft your franchise QB and be set for 10+years?

The Panthers will have the #1 pick whether Luck comes out or not. If Luck is not there they will NOT take a QB.

According to Moose, Florio, and Mort it seems that the rookie wage scale will not go into affect until the 2012 draft this could be good news for us. Here is an older article to back that up. Thanks I would really appreciate it if some one would make this a thread to me its that important!

It's not good news for us. I do NOT want to pay a 21 year old kid $50m.

Will the 49ers be willing to give up Davis and a few years of #1 and #2s?

I really doubt it. I think it's draft picks only.

The 49ers have two very nice targets for Luck to throw to. If you're giving up a few years of 1's and 2's you're going to struggle to replace them.

I'll put it the same way I did before.

The expectation is that this kid will be the next Peyton Manning.

If you had Peyton in his prime, with his whole career ahead of him, what kind of deal would you take to give him up?

Do you really think you can come up with a draft pick package that would be worth what a QB like that brings?

I don't :nonod:

So you are saying they don't have enough to offer...got it!

You all have to read this.

Even if we got 3 1st rounders in the top 10, how much of a guarantee would that be that it's worth it.

If you go back and look, you cannot be certain those picks will pan out when Luck is as close to a sure thing as you can get in the NFL.

Look at these names and tell me if any three of these players would have been worth Luck-

1999-2001: RB Edgerrin James, DT Corey Simon, WR David Terrell

2002-2004: OT Mike Williams, DT Jonathan Sullivan, CB DeAngelo Hall

2005-2007: RB Cedric Benson, TE Vernon Davis, DE Jamaal Anderson

2008-2010: RB Darren McFadden, LB Aaron Curry, LB Rolando McClain
