Do you think the panthers will not budge with #1 pick?

I know JR said he wants a face to the franchise and will probably not trade #1 pick. So with all this talk of Harbaugh possibly going to SF and other teams wanting him (Luck) real bad. Do you think JR can withstand the pressure of every pick in the world being thrown at you, just so you can possibly draft your franchise QB and be set for 10+years?

I know they said that. But come draft day and with many teams wanting him and throwing picks at you like candy. I hoping they say no to everything. Maybe they will have Luck locked up contract wise before the draft?

If they're smart they'll negotiate a contract ahead of time. Even if we do lock up Luck before the draft we can still trade him though.

I think we keep the pick. We cannot dump that pick AND sign a coach from the same mold as the one he just fired and continue telling everyone that we're committed to winning IMO.

I can (and will continue to) justify going with a defensive coach as long as the coordinators are good and allowed to coordinate. I can justify a supposed lack of interest in Harbaugh (who wasn't coming here anyway apparently) because despite our fervor it's not in our FOs blood to hire a college coach.

I will not be able to turn the other cheek to dealing away the #1 pick if Luck declares or not being active in FA to address areas that could not be addressed in the draft. Not that my individual opinion matters but I think that would justify everyone in the national media who has thought badly of the franchise.

Depends what the 49ers offer. We'd be very stupid not to at least listen to their offer.

Hurney wouldn't consider or even hear out offers for DWill or Smitty this year. Probably will go the same route here, even if some team is lined up to offer us their 1st, 2nd and 3rd round picks for the next 5 years.
