What are the chances of Luck pulling an Elway?

it would make more sense for harbaugh to tank next year and have luck go back to school, no?

how?

his job is in jeopardy if he tanks.... if you're the highest paid coach in the league you don't get to go 0-16 or 1-15 your first year.

his best bet is to go with whoever and try to get Luck to force a trade to him, which I don't see happening

If Harbaugh signs with SF, and wants luck that badly then the asking price should be Willis and their 1st for Luck. Unreasonable yea, but if Harbaugh wanted Luck that bad i think he'd jump on it. We could then switch to a 3-4 picking up valuable DT's that fit the 3-4 scheme in FA and have Anderson, Beason, Willis and Davis as our Linebackers. That would be scary. It would never happen though.

Because giving up one of the best QB prospects in the last decade to shore up defensive personnel for a switch to a different defensive scheme in the midst of an already difficult time would be a great idea

This is the reason we're all fans and not NFL executives.

Rookie head coaches do not get to dictate front office decisions. I don't know why everybody is acting like Jim Harbaugh has the kind of pull to not only convince Andrew Luck to tarnish his own legacy by following him to his NFL destination of CHOICE, but to also convince said team to give up a slew of assets in order to secure the right to pick him.

We're not in 1994 anymore when Kerry Collins was drafted by the Panthers and said, "Who?", we're a household name in the league. We've been to the Superbowl. We've had teams strong enough to win the league.

Andrew Luck knows the implications of his decision. To come out this year means being a Carolina Panther. To stay for next season is to learn a new system under a new head coach and pray to God that you don't suffer a significant injury or lose a game all year, because outside of a National Championship there is nothing left to prove for Luck in the college game. His stock will never be higher than it is right now, even if he does stay in school and wins a Championship.

Luck has a unique opportunity to come into a new situation with a new head coach as opposed to trying to fit Luck into a system, Luck can BE the system. I would hope he knows the value in that.

Rookie head coaches do not have the luxury of "tanking" for anything to be quite honest. If he does not come into his new situation and at least improve the record from the previous year, he WILL be on the hot seat. I am quite sure everybody knows that the NFL means not for long and the best way to get yourself fired is to look beyond the current season to next year. All he would be doing would be grooming Luck for the next head coach.

If Harbaugh has a boner for coaching Andrew Luck at the next level, he can come to Carolina or hope that his management decides to go get Luck on their own. Plus, I haven't heard the slightest peep out of Harbaugh about wanting to coach Luck. He could think the guy is an asshole and we'd never know it.

and St. Louis was 6-42? over the last 3 years and almost made the playoffs due to Bradford... this is a different nfl... teams change very quickly esp with a top tier qb...

Stop giving St Louis all of these kudos. They are still a bad team is a God Awful division.

They only managed 7 wins in maybe the worst division in the history of the NFL.

I understand how "stupid" the remark was, i was just saying that if SF would want luck that bad then it'll take their best player to get him (well I wouldn't want the FO to trade the pick or luck for anything less) thats how valuable he would be to our franchise at this point in time. If we sign a DC as HC who prefers to run 3-4 over the 4-3 and Luck demands a trade then we should get the best player possible to sure up our defense and draft Mallet, Newton or reach for an OG at the 7th pick. Ultimately this franchise needs Luck and JR is probably gonna force hurney to stick to the plan of keeping our #1 overall draft pick.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
