What are the chances of Luck pulling an Elway?

I find it hard to believe he would rather stay in college another year and risk going to a worse team than our record shows... than avoid us by actually staying in college..

we seriously have a talented roster.. and he has some targets in Gettis, Smitty, LaFell.. and a run game.. why risk anything less than that?

I could see him wanting to play for Harabaugh if he ended up in San Fran. It would take a collection of draft picks for me to consider shipping him there.

They have the 7th, and I maybe the 7th , their 2nd and a first next year with something else thrown in to kick around.

I wish we would just go after Harbaugh and make it easier... But I don't think Big Jerry is going to go for that.

But I honestly think the league should make a rule that you have to sign with the team you are drafted by... the whole point of giving the worst team in the NFL the 1st overall pick is so they can have a shot at a prospect like Luck, but right now Luck could just refuse to sign with us and re-enter the draft next year... we have no power in that situation and that's just plain wrong.

Based on what I've read and heard about Luck, I don't think he would pull an Elway/Eli on us, seems like a stand-up guy and who knows, maybe he wants to get out from under Harbaugh and prove he can do it on his own?

we could only hope!

No chance.

I could see Elway possibly trying to convince him to do it if Denver were to land Harbaugh (which doesn't look likely)

If Elway, Harbaugh, or anyone else tries to convince Luck to reject Carolina, I hope we can get them for tampering and they have to give us their first three or four picks in the draft. (Wouldn't it be great if they did try to convince Luck, yet Luck ignores them and then blow the horn that they did tamper with him. We would get Luck and extra picks! )

I agree with you guys. It is kind of a funny thought. We as fans laugh at the situation Elway and Eli put the teams who drafted them in. Yet how humbling would it be if the same thing happened to us?

It's a funny thought because no one can see Luck doing that. Luck can stay in school if he wants to avoid Carolina so bad, but i and many people doubt he will do that, if he wants to go pro, he knows where he will likely go and will take it, if he wants to stay at Stanford, he stays, short and simple.

doubt Harbaugh would do that, he played for Carolina (as a backup) and didnt complain. i think he wouldnt try to convince Luck to reject Carolina.

    • I like that a lot; Ware from Troy and also Khalil Mack who played at University of Buffalo
    • I remember the Huddle consensus over the course of last season and the previous one. Lots of Bryce is a bust, we should've drafted a 4th slot WR, should've kept Wilks, should've kept an armless Cam, etc etc. So... yea... already thought about that. I wouldn't trust the Huddle to detail my car, let alone run a multi-billion dollar professional sports team. 😛
    • bold prediction, I think Mike Green will be the best pass rusher in this class, and thats even with abdul carter.  He reminds me of demarcus ware, not just in size and prowess, but even coming from a Sunbelt school (Ware from Troy, Green from Marshall).  I think he is passionate about the sport where I think Carter as the physical freak might not have the heart.  Thats the guy Im sold on and am gonna hammer the table for, I know he's not projected 8, but he is projected like 12-13, so if a slide back can happen and we still get the guy I want, I'm 100% on board. All that said, it takes 2 to tango, I think the Cowboys are the tango-er.  IMO theres a VERY good shot that Jeanty is available at 8.  Why does that matter?  Not only do the cowboys NEED a runningback (dak sucks without a run game), but MORE importantly, gee where did Jeanty play in high school.....Frisco TX, literally Dallas Metro.  Soo, RB is a position of need and the best RB and most blue chip draft selection that  could improve the offense immensly played IN dallas metro AND will be in range for them to move up and pick?  Do ya think Jerry Jones is gonna just say no to the Jersey Sales?  Jerry might have sexually assaulted a woman and attempted to prevent black people from going to school, but he's no idiot (he is).  IMO, we get a good enough package, prlly their first and third,  maybe a conditional later and we move to 12.  We get Green, they get Jeanty, everbuddy happy.
