If Luck Doesn't declare...

I got a question for you guys. I know most of you guys agree (myself included) if Luck is in the draft we should take him with the #1 overall pick.

But let's say he doesn't declare, and JR keeps the pick like he has stated he will, who do you draft?

I think a lot of people would say trade down but that's not an option.

That WR Option should say WR AJ Green

I say we don't turn our pick in until after Denver and Buffalo pick. Then we can still get someone and technically it'll be the 3rd pick and won't have to pay 1st pick money for it.

Given the circumstances, I voted for Newton.

Right now, I think the most pressing need in our QB. So I went with my #2 QB and would draft Newton.

Don't think we need a WR, considering how our rookies did. And the DTs in this draft aren't all that great. Plus Nick Fairley is too much of a dirty player for me.

Nick Fairley, as long as he stays healthy, will be a Pro Bowler in 2 years max.

IF Luck isn't there, and IF we can't trade the pick, then I think we have to take the best QB on our board. There isn't an offensive lineman good enough to take 1st overall, and aside from Suh from last year, there are almost never any DT's good enough to take 1st overall.

AJ Green might be a possibility if the new coach doesn't feel good about LaFell and Gettis.

If we can trade the pick, then we should move down and get Fairley or Dareus.

We will not be able to trade down. There are a collection of guys that all the top 5 teams can use on their team. If their 1st pick isn't there, they will be fine with option B.

Dareus is really built for a 3-4 DE. That's what Bama ran on D. Don't know how he'd do as a DT in a 4-3.

Peterson. Gives us insurance in case Gamble is traded and when Marshall walks. We have invested heavily in DE's through the draft, and can pickup some FA DT's to clog the middle. A guy with Peterson's ability can really make things a lot easier on a D Line, see Revis and similar guys.

We could still bring in a vet QB (McNabb, etc..) and let Jimmy hold a clipboard for a season to get his head in the game.

Newton and Fairly will take some time to develop, Peterson would make an immediate impact.
