Exiting the Harbaugh train

Nobody wanted Harbaugh more than me. Not any more.

Maybe it is because I feel certain he will be a 49er by the weekend, but the news of his disinterest in the Panthers (or ours in him) made me step back.

Harbaugh is a prick. He snubbed reporters after the Orange Bowl, He blitzed and ran up the score on VT and has a history of doing so. He was showing off when he traded the entire right side of the line with the left vs. VT.

Now, I don't think the reporters are right to ask him about his future plans over the PA system in front of Stanford fans right after the Orange Bowl. Still, the networks pay a lot for that opportunity, so his "us against the world" attitude is usually a short-lived ploy in college and pro sports.

He is drinking his own Kool-Aid. He has an all-star staff at Stanford, bringing NFL coaches in. I think he will be good, but his arrogance is much more severe than his brother's. I think Harbaugh's Luck may be running out.

He isn't coming here anyways and he never was. I don't know why people even thought he was, he does not fit our identity at all. it'd be nice but I've said from beginning it won't happen. Focus on Luck people he will change this team.

So we complained for 9 years about a coach with testicles the size of marbles and now we have people complaining because there's a coach with the balls to not sit on a 3 point lead.....

Blitzing late with a 20+ point lead. Twist my statements and attack them. Cool.

I think him being hired would be exciting and fun at first. It will temporarily pump excitement into the fanbase to sell tickets. Then, after a couple of years of his shenanigans, we will want him out of here.

I feared this when I was on the Harbaugh train. Well stated.

You don't want a team to score stop them, you don't want the game to look ugly score yourself. Everyone knew Stanford was at the Orange Bowl to prove a message and that Harbaugh would go to lengths to make the game look as impressive as possible.....

Wow, already the bandwagon is losing its wheels. I agree the guy seems to be a jerk. He showed it in the bowl game. One play he had 3 guys in motion like twice, just changing formations and kinda showboating. It's a not so subtle f u to the opposing defense that says "i am smarter than you."

In that same game i noticed something else. Was it just me or did LUCK have an obscene amount of extra blockers? I mean i saw Harbaugh using 6 offensive lineman sets on passing plays. I saw 2-3 TE sets. I saw his RB and FB stay in and block for him. I swear several times a 8 man front was blocking the dline. So in closing i will say. How will Luck do with our OLINE? When he does not have 3-4 extra guys staying in to protect him.

I see your points and agree with reservations. However, I am looking for reasons to hate him now.

This.

If people have a problem with you "running up the score" or "blitzing late" it means you are winning games. I'd rather have a coach who wins games big than a coach who checks out when they get a lead.

Meh, I can understand that. I would have loved for him to be here myself, he's a great coach and an even better motivator. I'm not gonna hate the guy because he can get a sweeter deal (more power) somewhere else. I'll just tip my hat and say thanks for the QB hopefully.....

It was not just you. I am trying to get off the bandwagon before the wheels come off. Truth be known, I wanted him badly and if I read he was coming here I would probably spew a little. However, I need to hate him now.

He did a great job with the mismatches. He had a month to prepare with a staff with tons of NFL experience vs. a college staff. But the bottom line is this--Are we talking about him at all if Andrew Luck goes to USC three years ago?

Especially in college where style points matter. Stanford is playing for the #2 position in the final polls as much as they were an Orange Bowl title. They went there to prove a message and VT should have known that going in. I could have told you weeks ago Harbaugh was going to try to make it ugly.....
