Country dumb....

Just thought about this: Didn't Jerry retired from football when he didn't get an extra $250? How ironic it is that he's stonewalling the players over extra money, something he retired over because he didn't get? More irony to the press conference, especially the labor talks.

Plus, it's just common sense (and courtesy) for reporters to identify themselves and their outlets when asking questions in a news conference. Period.

This! The reporters never picked up on this he would have stopped asking their names after awhile if they would have.

Couple things I got from the press conference. Hurney is defiantly the mouth piece for Richardson. He looked like a little kid sitting next to his dad in that conference scared to say anything not the company line. Would like to have heard more from Morrison.

Said it yesterday JR didnt start talking seriously til he was talking the CBA. Sure he rambled on about how Fox wasnt getting it done. But once the he was talking about the CBA he switched over to the serious businessman mode.

What not is being talked about is the Richardson's only own 48% of the Panthers that means they dont have total anonymity. Which means JR cant just make decisions as awhole. This will become important when JR does either steps down or passes away.

you know what? if he had done that, you'd be bitching that richardson didn't personally come out and talk. jjr had an agenda at the news conference, and he executed it exactly the way he wanted. like it or not.

But I wouldn't be concerned that we're about 5 seconds of interrupted oxygen to the brain away from having Al Davis run our team.

I do believe that it's likely that Morrison will become more "out there" publicly for the team now ... a smart move all around. JJR just felt it necessary for him to do that presser.

That solid 48% ownership trumps everything else. And JJR won't step down, until he dies.

If JR starts going senile it wont and Im not saying he was yesterday. Like Zod said he played that room yesterday. I've played the country bumpkin alot over my years and that is what JR did yesterday. But once he does start doing that behind the scenes then there will be a change. I think Morrison is being groomed to take over that position when he does leave.

he owns 48 and their are 14 other folks owning the remaining 52... thats like 3 .75 each... none close to what he owns as a whole... he has total control. plus we arent privy to his ownership agreement with them and what powers they have or he has in terms of buyback, selling ability, etc. we do know he's been in control this long and that is likely not to change... even when he does die I am sure there are provisions to retain that balance of power within his family as he deems proper. it just makes sense for it to be as such.

I've listened to 22 minutes of this press conference and I'm amazed at where all this talk is coming from..

unless the next 10 minutes blows up.. He wasn't attacking the press, he was answering the dumb questions from the press and asking them what they would do.. to which they agreed.. and probly felt stupid for asking the question in the 1st place..

yes, he was being stern, perhaps passive aggressive.. but not all out aggressive.. and hell, someone needs to call out the media who doesn't seem accountable for the poo they write.. dog the hell out of them!

we all know the press words questions a certain way and he put them in their place..

The Morgan thing is being blown way out of proportion, unless he just starts molesting her in the next 10 minutes...

he is saying all the things fans have been wanting to see from our team.. such as, the stubbornness to start vets over younger players who are better.. winning back to back seasons..

granted, he did ramble in the beginning, but he isn't reading from a script. You would think fans would appreciate that...

damn, you all are either highly sensitive or are going to keep looking for reasons to be upset..
