Country dumb....

Thats what Ray Charles called it.

Can't help but think of it while watching the press conference. Speak slow and in your country accent and let others assume what they will to their own peril.

Lol

Poor dumb reporters.

I still think he is a class act. I had no problem at all with the presser because i have seen that side of him for years. It was a business meeting with the CEO. I was pretty mild as far as i am concerned.

Talk to JR on a personal level and he is a great guy that is very likable. Get him in the board room and you better bring your A game.

That's great and all, but he was in a press conference. It's a public forum. You (and Jerry historically has) carry yourself in a different manner.

If you find yourself defending any public act of communication as "you just have to know him" it is usually a failure, as the majority of the audience doesn't.

Still, that's all I keep seeing:

Jerry rambles on endlessly and somewhat embarassingly?

Oh, that's just how he is. He's just being country.

Jerry treats the body of reporters with seeming disdain (Didn't know their names. Didn't always answer their questions. Sometimes forgot their names.)

Oh, that Jerry! Better bring your A game!

Jerry treats a female reporter in a patronizing, "what do you want to do when you grow up, little girl?" way.

Oh Jerry and her go waaaaay back. All the way to November 2010.

There's a difference between talking with friends, talking in a room full of trusted people who work with you and know your habits, and talking to a wide group of strangers who you'd like to continue to spend 1000's of dollars with you that know little more than your name. Richardson forgot that yesterday.

To me, I watched the first five minutes and had to close the browser window. It was completely unwatchable. This guy leads our franchise? With all due respect, fug me.

Edit: But thanks a million for cajun fillet biscuits, Jerry.

These guys don't get it. JR brought it raw. He told it how it is. He is sick of the media flat out telling LIES to the FANS. He hasn't talked to harbaugh and he is sick of the fans getting their hopes up. Like my Okie Grandpa used to say 'No need getting your mouth watering over food you ain't gonna get'.

I want to see JR do this more often!

I am going to have to agree wil Delhommey. I mean if it is one big front then that's one thing but acting like you don't even know who Harbaugh is with that little of interest? For a candidate that should be top 3? I really wish JR was more aware. But at the same time I understand exactly why he is like this as he doesn't have much time left but really someone in his condition should be resting and living out the rest of life and whether you agree with that statement or not his condition and job are going conflict with one another. He seems real nice and real classy but a part of me also sees a man who could be slightly senile to the point where he just want control of everything while he was one day able to bear it, he is just too simple/unhealthy to keep on top of things and run a business. I have a feeling JR takes his time on things for example and sometimes that can bite you in the ass in the NFL business.

What do I really know, I don't know him. I am glad he isn't Jones. I know as much as anyone else but he did not look very bright to me. People can still be in business and not smart. I am sure when he was younger and more 'connected', his savy country charm was very convincing and that probably had a lot to do with his success. However, one can only wonder the longer he goes how much his mental health starts to deteriorate.

I understand you guys are in denial because you're fans, but seriously he forgot what the hell he was even talking about and I doubt he was high lol...just my opinion.

It was a lot of things, but don't believe him when he refers to his "simple brain." They guy was multitasking in that room. He wanted to scold the media. He did. Some would never get away with that, but it was fused with his dry sense of humor. He was using it as a format to address his views on the CBA, knowing it would get out. He was also interested in justifying his decisions to fire Fox and cut veteran players. He wanted to end the Harbaugh mess and let Luck know that he is the guy.

Jerry was not on a PR campaign. It took me a while to realize it and I am still a little pissed because we just went 2-14. However, Jerry is officially on the warpath, and he wants to win. If nothing else comes out of this, remember that. I only hope Andrew Luck takes a similar spin on this, or what he saw could scare him back to Palo Alto.
