Ryan Mallet =

For the record he didn't force the throw he just didn't see the defender, it happens all the time. no one expected him to drop from the Dtackle spot to coverage so give the kid a break and chalk it up to good defense.

an interception doesnt JUST happen because of good defense, either he forced it, it was late or the dtackle read his eyes and saw where he was throwing the ball.

Clausen doesn't have a weak arm. As for Mallett. He's a bit of a statue back there, but then Brady is hardly fleet of foot.

agreed, that's one issue i have with Mallett.

lol, why make excuses? that int was completely his fault. Just like the interception luck threw Monday night, his fault. He made 1 too many mistakes (that was really the only 1 that mattered). I don't see the big deal w/ admitting that he screwed up, no one is perfect.

agreed again, it's not like we are saying Mallett sucks, we just dont think he's worth the first overall pick and he's not.

Wow. Sounds like someone doesn't want any talk of 'possible' competition to ole Lucky. You know that IF the Panthers trade down there's a good chance they may take another QB.

NO, i just dont want them to draft Mallett as first overall, he's not worth it, what with the Jay Cutler gunslinger mentality, the movement in the pocket, he's not worth the top pick.

And no Mallett's pass wasn't late, the WR had just broke his route inside. Yes, his fault but even NFL QBs routinely make that mistake. That does not make them bad QBs, just a heck of a defensive call.

did you read what i wrote?? he's NOT a bad QB, i compared him to Cutler, he's got talent, but he's also got to get better at alot of things, i think he will put up big numbers next year, including interceptions.

Eh. I'd take him over Locker. Probably tied with Newton.

i wouldnt take him over Locker, i am a fan of Locker's, BUT i would take Mallett over Newton. Mallett IS ready to start in the NFL.

It's the fact that people are using that 1 play to base whether or not he will be a good QB or whether or not we should draft him.

no one is using that ONE play, they are looking at his whole year and he's had his great moments and his bad moments, he reminds me of a slower version of Jay Culter, i expect him to throw alot of touchdowns and of course alot of interceptions, Mallett has that gunslinger mentality which is both good and bad. i wouldnt hate to see him on the Redskins (another team i like), but number one overall is a reach for him.

Agree with earlier assessment of reminding me of Cutler. Big arm but will force some throws and make throws off backfoot etc. I think if you give him a decent team around him he could be a good NFL QB, perhaps not franchise, but could win games like Cutler. But you have to be ready for the bad side to pop up.

yep, that's my thoughts exactly, i think he has potential to be franchise, but i wont say that yet, but he's almost exactly like Cutler except Cutler can move around better in the pocket.

Cutler is a much, much better athlete. He's a threat to take off and run. Mallett isn't.

I agree with everything but that. Clausen dose not have a super strong arm and would be better adapted to the WCO. That is... If you can get him to stop throwing side arm. Lot of work that kid needs.
