If he isn't returning phone calls then best of luck to him. I don't want a coach that doesn't 100% want to be here. He seems to fit in better at San Fran anyway. We are going to get a coordinator. Hurney pretty much said that in the presser. He said, "we have had success in the past with coordinators, and it is important to get someone that fits our system."

Wait a minute here. If Marty Hurney is leading the coaching search (that sounded like what Jerry said today), and Marty is in charge of player personnel decisions, then wouldn't a coach wanting player personnel control...I don't know...maybe put him out of a job?

He'll have to work with a GM (in title anyway) in San Francisco too, but there are different levels of control and assigned duties.

Baalke is a new guy who only got the job on an interim basis this past year. Hurney's been the Panthers lead man since 2002.

So, JR's reaction basically inferring that he didn't know him and sure he was a nice guy was awkward. So we had him for over a half season in the final year of a pretty good career and you didn't even meet him then? I just found that weird.

I dont know. I think it would be a bad idea anyway to let Harbaugh (with full control) and Luck be on the same team. To many favors over other players i would think.
