Harbaugh not returning our calls?

Based on some stuff I've read it sounds like Harbaugh wants full control over personnel and that's not something the Panthers are going to give him.

My take as well.

And he may indeed want more money than we want to pay, but again, if we've had no contact with him, how does he know what we'd offer?

Harbaugh doesn't strike me as a guy that'd just listen to what the media tells him (few coaches would) and we're the team in position to take his prized pupil.

At this point, there's no way I buy the story that the team hasn't talked to him in some form.

They were asked if they had contact with Harbaugh...having contact with his agent is not having contact with the coach. Easy way to sideskirt the question "truefully".

Agents are also widely know as being "sources" to reporters (whether for good OR bad agenda).

None of the above.

Gantt had a bad source and this beat writer in SF is speculating.

Far more believable, imo.

How do you speculate that someone isn't returning someone else's calls?

Being brutally honest, I have no problem with the team getting in touch with harbaugh early. Tampering happens all the time, and it's not like the Panthers haven't done it before.

Obviously, it's not something they can admit to in a press conference though.

Very true, His agent might have been pissed at Richardsons remark sent this out.

he has virtually no pro coaching experience, and is about as far from a "Steelers hire" as possible.

I mean really... Hurney even said that an NFL assistant was the route they were most likely going.Just not the kinda guy they want.

And so long as Harbaugh leaves Stanford then we are better off for it... Luck is the real prize, not his coach.

after hearing he wants a lot of control(or the 49ers are willing to give it), and then hearing JR/Hurney say they don't want to hire a coach based on what the coach wants, but what's best for the Panthers..Harbaugh is only a pipe dream atm.
