49ers DC Greg Manusky to interivew with the panthers

Yeah. They had played the worst team in the league into a tie at 10 apiece.

f**k yeah Manusky!

I really don't think having Alex Smith, Troy Smith, and David Carr as your options at quarterback with Mike Singletary running the show can somehow be used as an example of the ineptitude of the defensive coordinator.

when the panthers have sputtered to the finish line playing a stubborn style of football ill-suited to beat almost any other team as currently assembled, then they will have hit rock bottom.

i may have used the wrong verb tense there.

I'm going to place my faith in the FO to make the right decision. I believe JR wants to win more than we can all imagine. I'm not getting all worked up over the HC search just yet. As long as we get Luck or a top flight QB in the draft I'm happy. Things will get better.

from Gantt about this guy:

Also played under Dungy in MIN. RT @jcmahoney Manusky played for Schotty, coached under Schotty in DC and San Diego.

Referring to Marty Schottenheimer. I can respect that a little more. And if I'm not mistaken, wasn't the Niner's defense one of the top units in the league this year?

I can respect this one a little more than Fewell. If he's like Schotty, he'd probably turn over the offense altogether to an OC, which I have historically liked more than an overbearing "follow my style" HC.

I still think he's a scrub and like Rivera the best so far.

Raise your hand if you had heard of John Harbaugh, Mike Tomlin, Mike Smith, Mike McCarthy, etc before they were hired.

I think it's less of people heard of and more of what team they are associated with. The 49ers are not exacltly a powerhouse of a team and people associate that with him.

It comes down to Jerry and his philosophy. We are going to get a young, defensive minded guy and as long as he has that fire to win and is able to put a good staff around him, thats all we can hope for. Just because they coach defense does not mean they will make the same poor staff decisions Fox did.

How about we hire a former DC who doesn't need to rely on excuses for why his defensive scheme was a complete and total failure.

I can't take this bottom feeding anymore! Go get a talented coach JR!

Ok I'm better now.
