The Luck Watch...

Mr. Scot

Recommended Posts

I just hope that, one way or another, we are able to get a coach(whether it be as a coordinator, assistant, whatever) who can work with QB's.

Ron Rivera as head coach + Josh McDaniels as offensive coordinator would be fantastic. Too bad it'll never happen lol.

Dear God no to McDaniels

Hes probably the only guy in the world that would trade Luck for The Golden Calf of Bristol

not as a head coach, as an offensive coordinator. I agree, any team who gives McDaniels ANY control whatsoever of a roster is out of their mind. You can't deny that the guy knows how to run a successful offense, and is one of the best at working with quarterbacks.

http://gridironfans.com/forums/latest-nfl-headlines/149401-49ers-willing-give-jim-harbaugh-personnel-power.html

While the 49ers have reportedly asked permission to interview two NFL assistant coaches, the organization is also working to land Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, a league source confirms. "They are willing to give Harbaugh significant personnel power," the source told Comcast SportsNet on Tuesday. In their quest to land Harbaugh, the 49ers are willing to give Harbaugh more power over the entire personnel process, the source said. The team reportedly has requested permission to interview Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. Interviews with Jackson and/or Fewell would satisfy the requirements under the Rooney Rule, which mandates every team interview at least one minority candidate before hiring a head coach. Last week, ESPN reported Harbaugh was more likely to be the next coach at Michigan, his alma mater, but the Detroit Free Press, citing a "person with direct knowledge of Harbaugh's thinking," reported it is "highly unlikely" Harbaugh will end up in Michigan.

If this is true it's really good news for us me thinks....

Word that Jed York will pick between Mike Lombardi and Trent Baalke for GM, possibly as early as tonight.

If Lombardi gets the job, expect Harbaugh to be named head coach ASAP.

I think it's going to be Lombardi for that very reason.....

The risk of staying -

team not as good next year = no chance of Heisman

team not as good next year = chance of injury

maybe has a bad year personally = lose some prestige in the draft scouts eyes

somebody else has stellar year and becomes front runner for #1 pick = less $$$$$$

I say 95% chance he declares - 100% if harbaugh leaves.

I say 100% chance he declares within hours of panthers nameing Bill Cowher HC.
