Offensive Coordinators

Pete Carmichael, Jr. Currently the Saints OC.

From 06-09 he was the Saints Qb coach.

In 04-05 he was the assistant receivers coach for the Chargers

If at all possible for him to switch teams, he may be willing to do so when you consider that Payton gets literally ALL the credit for the Saints offense.

I'm just throwing names out there. 99% of the names listed in this thread probably won't even be on the Panther's radar anyway.

Besides, Carmichael seems to be in Payton's shadow. He will be as long as he stays in N.O. An OC job that probably gives him more freedom/power than the title he currently holds in N.O may be just up his alley. That, and we don't know who our new HC is, who our new DC is. Who knows what connections they may or may not have?

Word from the Miami Herald that the Dolphins and Dan Henning are "parting ways".

Anybody want him back? :sosp:

Before JR's talk with Tomlinson today, I would say that would be a very real possibility. But, apparently JR knows that the league has changed into an offensive minded league, that loves to vertically move the ball in huge plays.

I think JR could be sincere in saying that Carolina is going to change.

The Vikings will reportedly meet with former Broncos coach Josh McDaniels on Friday to interview for the offensive coordinator position.

Coach Leslie Frazier's hesitation to commit to the West Coast offense has left Darrell Bevell's future with the club in doubt. While McDaniels' personnel moves and head coaching acumen merit criticism, his work with Matt Cassel, Kyle Orton, and The Golden Calf of Bristol is enticing to other clubs. The Vikes could be counting on him to help develop Joe Webb or a quarterback selected early in the 2011 draft.

John Ramsdell is my top choice for OC if we get Rivera given his history with QBs: Bulger (in his prime), Brees, Rivers

That would be a nice combo and we could bring in a Bulger or Volek as a backup/filler starter. Well, that's my idea for the day

I like this option more than any other I've seen. Rivera as coach with Ramsdell at OC and then maybe Rivera's old team mate Mike Singletary as DC. I could see that as a great coaching staff.

Then like you said bring in Bulger or Volek to be the backup/mentor to Clausen and Pike for 2011. Re-evaluate Clausen after he gets time with someone who has a clue about developing QBs and then draft a QB in the 1st in 2012 if need be.

I also like the idea of Jim Zorn as a OC. Sometimes you have to overlook times in a coach's history and Zorn is one of those coaches. He should have never been the head coach in the first place and on top of that he was working for Dan Snyder. I would be happy with Zorn as the OC.
