He has a strong tendency to jump when he passes, and throw off his back foot when unnecessary. He does not have a strong arm, at all, and tape shows that. He'll be a reach for someone, hopefully not us. If we can't get Luck or Newton, get someone else and sign a QB.

Also, I love how you have a sentence in here about "a strong tendency to jump when he passes, and throw off his back foot when unnecessary..." and then your next sentence says we should take Cam Newton.

lol.

Saw McShay talking about him this morning as well. Says he projects him to be either the #5 pick or a Top 5 pick, can't remember.

I personally haven't watched him play, so IDK... McShay also says none of the QBs, Luck included have the "wow" factor in terms of arm strength EXCEPT for Mallett, who I think will be a huge BUST, just my opinion though.

Mallett has a huge arm, but he's pretty rigid as far as mobility. Unless he's playing behind an All-Pro line, I think he's going to be a risky pick. Also, he's a ******.

Between the two, I'd rather take Gabbert because he has a comparable arm, good accuracy, and as far as athleticism, the only guy with more of it in this draft will be Newton.

Wow, really? That's a classy statement.

Apparently the talk around MU is Gabberts little brother is going to be playing here and people are saying he is way better than his older brother. I'm not opposed to the idea of getting Gabbert, but not 1st overall.

Let me just say as someone who hates Missouri and has followed both Blaine and Baby Gabbert since they were both in high school (both were committed to Nebraska at one point in their respective recruitments), that Tyler Baby Gabbert isn't even in the same stratosphere as Blaine. He's what, 5 inches shorter and 50 pounds lighter with half the arm strength?

Honestly, I don't really know, never seen the little one play. I just go by what I hear around here......which, now that I think about it, has never been the best source for factual information.

lolwut. You haven't a clue what you're talking about.

Gabbert has arguably the strongest arm of anyone in college football, including Luck. His glaring weakness is pocket presence and dealing with a pass rush if anything. It sure as hell isn't arm strength. He is going to absolutely destroy the combines. Just watch.

Agreed, Gabbert definitely has the arm and I fully expect him to show it off at the combine.
