The only thing I know is that most of the more knowledgeable Notre Dame fans (some still exist) on the college football board I frequent say Clausen is not going to cope well being a clipboard holder. He didn't have a reputation as the greatest teammate at Notre Dame, and he got super pissed off when Weis recruited Dayne Crist an entire year after he'd already signed.

You're missing the part where Clausen played consistently awful all season, no matter how good or bad his teammates played.
