Sources: Panthers to pick Andrew Luck

I think the Lions and Tampa Bay agree with you. 2 QB's in 2009, 2 DT in 2010.

It's not just that, Fairley isn't some all world DT, neither is Dareus. If they were on the level of Suh it at least wouldn't sound as asinie, but Fairley isn't close to the level of Suh.....

Well, Raji was a big craze in the 09 draft, but the Lions passed. I also think that had the Chiefs not lost the coin toss in 2008, that they would have took Matt Ryan @ 3 instead of Glenn Dorsey at 5.

So you think a decent but not great DT is more important then a franchise QB....

Again, it depends on what happens in the offseason. How about if the Panthers sign a FA QB? It's happen before. Also, 'potential' is a word you may want to qaulify in front of "franchise QB".

All #1 pick QBs have not always panned out, they were picked as "franchise QBs" too. Luck may or may not, we will see. You seem to be certain with an almost infatuation-like intensity. Hey, it's your man-crush.

This is their message to Luck: declare and you're going #1. No need to guess. We may even ignore the rookie wage scale and sign him to a Bradford deal before the draft just to ensure he comes out.

And this doesn't sound like some bullsh** "source" - I'd bet anything these two "high ranking sources" were Hurney & Morrison.

What franchise QB is available in FA....Matt Leinart, Kyle Orton.....

And yea I am pretty certain, that's because unlike most of the Panthers fan base I've been watching the kid for two years now. He's going to be special, he was taught how to play the QB position at an ELITE level by his head coach, and it shows.....

I'm in the wait and see crowd as things transpires and you are in the Luck or bust crowd no matter the circumstances.

We have a difference in opinions. I'm cool with that.

I've spent too darn long on this board today. I'm out...

There's not a better option for him anyway, if he stays in school it will be because he's not confident in his ability and doesnt want to be what Locker would have been last year. Maybe he just wants another year of fun with those ivy league ho's

Second best LB, next to Beason because we had a bevy of injured and replacement players. Anderson stayed healthy, that's what he had going for him. He's a great reserve, but I don't want him starting if given a chance to up-grade. The LBs were tackling machines because we had no interior D-line. And yes, I watched the games, including some in person.

I understand your play it safe approach. I understand the your team is not that bad only an upgrade at certain positions. I understand your not putting faith in a rookie QB. But saying James Anderson didn't have an outstanding year? Come on! So because the interior line sucked.. the OLB was good? The fact that he made lots and lots of tackles, played well in coverage shows how bad he is?

Ever consider that saying they won't trade the 1st pick is a way of luring Harbaugh to them? hearing all kinds of stuff saying that the panthers won't pursue Harbaugh, but maybe if he contacted them knowing they intend to pick Luck they would have the upper hand? I know, it's all speculation, but you never know how Jerry works. I still think that Gantt is on to something with his info.
