Sources: Panthers to pick Andrew Luck

What else would you expect. Saying this just lets other teams know that if they want the pick they are gonna have to bleed for it.

I would honestly rather them just disconnect the phone on draft day until the pick is in. After watching Luck for the last two years it's pretty easy to tell this kid is going to be special....

Yep, longer than you think. So quanity means quality apparently. You want James Anderson STARTING again?

What's wrong with James Anderson as a starting OLB? The guy could go to practically any other 4-3 team in the league and be a capable starter.

Anderson was our second best LB this year and he was making almost as many plays as Beast all year. Really not sure what Panthers squad you watched' date=' or if you just like to be a debbie downer....[/quote']

Second best LB, next to Beason because we had a bevy of injured and replacement players. Anderson stayed healthy, that's what he had going for him. He's a great reserve, but I don't want him starting if given a chance to up-grade. The LBs were tackling machines because we had no interior D-line. And yes, I watched the games, including some in person.

So you would rather draft Nick Fairley then Luck? Oh and Anderson wasn't the second best because he stayed healthy. He was second best because he made great plays throughout the year. If the Panthers would have been a playoff team he would have been going to the Pro Bowl....

The game against the Ravens we had a chance in if not for the 2 pick 6's.

Another thing. BATTED BALLS. If we were playing baseball, Clausen would have an amazing batting average :D

sure we have had some bad QB play my point is..I dont believe if Luck was playing during this season he would have made things that much better..maybe a win or two but not 5+.IMO

if Luck is who people say he is (and I'm hearing no compelling argument that he isn't a franchise-level QB prospect), then it's hard to imagine more of a no-brainer at #1. he'd still be a prospect, though. much work to be done to mold him into a perennial pro-bowl caliber QB capable of willing teams to wins and playoff berths.

Nice...if the Panthers would have been a playoff team we wouldn't be having this discussion!!! Oh and Beason would have made the Pro Bowl, not Anderson.

Edit: Your still missing the point of a QB and one or two minor personnel tweeks is enough to turn this ship around.

I dont think we would have won 5 more no. I do believe that Qb is more than half the key to success on a team. Look at Brady, Manning this year, Marino, and Elway. Brady has Welker sure, but really no other big threats. Manning has had more WR's than Panthers combined TD passes and a suspect offensive line, yet he still led them to the playoffs. Elway never had good WR's until Rod Smith and Ed Mccaffrey. Not until he had a running game did he finally win the big one.

We have more problems than QB but the QB would put us maybe a year or 2 out from being serious again.

Both would have, they play different positions. Anderson was one of the best OLB in the league this year. He earned a BIG payday....
