Harbaugh back to Stanford?

Lets face it... Where the Panthers and have a black cat for a mascot. Nothing we want will come true. We will end up with Newton and the Bills will end up with Luck next year.

None of whats coming out of the Media is good for Carolina and we will end up with a guy no one has heard much about just like last time.

Ok now that your expectations are low we dont have to worry about being disappointed.

I can live without getting Harbaugh.

The thought of not getting Luck hurts :(

Im starting to get use to the fact. I see no indicators that he is going to declare and everything points to him staying. The only true indicator I could see that would make him want to declare is that we are at #1. If he waits a year its a real good chance he is a Bengal,Brown, or Bill. Thats the only reason I can see him leaving this year, and that might not be enough.

From what I understand the 49ers would give him just about anything to take their job.

Another one that depends on who you ask.

Local beat writers say Trent Baalke is a shoo-in for the GM job.

PFT says Harbaugh won't work with Baalke, but might be willing to work with Mike Lombardi (who the Niners interviewed, but who agrees that Baalke is the guy).

If Gantt's right about him wanting total control - which wouldn't be shocking, given that Pete Carroll got it - I have to wonder if they'd give on that front.

Harbaugh to San Francisco could be heating back up.

The Sacramento bee is reporting that Jed York will choose his GM between Mike Lombardi and Trent Baalke probably tonight or early tomorrow.

Lombardi started the National Football Post along with Jack Bechta, a guy who also happens to be Harbaugh's agent.

Beat writers have been saying it's Baalke's to lose. If Lombardi gets the gig, expect the Niners to hire Harbaugh quickly (after the cursory interviews).

If that happens, I expect Andrew Luck to declare for the draft.

Just posted this in the Luck watch thread....

http://gridironfans.com/forums/latest-nfl-headlines/149401-49ers-willing-give-jim-harbaugh-personnel-power.html

While the 49ers have reportedly asked permission to interview two NFL assistant coaches, the organization is also working to land Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh, a league source confirms. "They are willing to give Harbaugh significant personnel power," the source told Comcast SportsNet on Tuesday. In their quest to land Harbaugh, the 49ers are willing to give Harbaugh more power over the entire personnel process, the source said. The team reportedly has requested permission to interview Raiders offensive coordinator Hue Jackson and New York Giants defensive coordinator Perry Fewell. Interviews with Jackson and/or Fewell would satisfy the requirements under the Rooney Rule, which mandates every team interview at least one minority candidate before hiring a head coach. Last week, ESPN reported Harbaugh was more likely to be the next coach at Michigan, his alma mater, but the Detroit Free Press, citing a "person with direct knowledge of Harbaugh's thinking," reported it is "highly unlikely" Harbaugh will end up in Michigan.

I expect him to go to SF after reading that. He gets his personnel power, doesn't have to relocate, has a young team to mold and more then likely Lombardi as GM.....

ok I dont think Luck is stupid and neither is his dad. He wont stay in school another year just to play for harbough, miss out on millions of dollars and possibly being the #1 pick over all. Every college qb dreams of two things, being drafted #1 and being the starter for the team hes drafted by.

from the same guy:

Source: Likeliest scenario is Baalke announced as GM tonight, multiple coach interviews tomorrow, then Baalke & Harbaugh presser Thursday.

Yea just saw that, if on Thurs I wake up to an ESPN headline that says Harbaugh accepts San Francisco job I will start to get a little excited while I wait for Luck's conference.....
