Richardson admitted he lost faith in Fox last year but kept him around because he didn't want to pay him and a new coach. Sounds pretty cheap for an NFL owner.

Harbaugh might want more than just a lot of money. He might want more control of a team than we are willing to give.

Gantt has given some indication of that.

My guess is that we won't get him, but it won't be because of money. Nor will it be because they didn't try.

I tend to agree, why get into a bidding war over Harbaugh? The Broncos and 49ers are adamant in securing Harbaugh as their future HC, it seems.

we have something those other clubs don't:

the guarantee of Luck.

However, I'm willing to bet that isn't the same draw as personnel control etc...

The funny thing is those other clubs all want Harbaugh because they think it will guarantee them Luck.

Been thinking of a situation.

What if we get both Harbaugh and Luck (unlikely I know). Luck , after a full season, has become a very good young qb, Harbaugh on the other hand, has sucked horribly as a HC.. and they fire Harbaugh. Given how close Luck and Harbaugh are.. I could see Luck demanding a trade. We'd lose our #1 pick because we took him and his college coach as a combo package.

Be nice if Harbaugh just wanted to be the OC with Luck. Think he wouldn't be as effective fresh from the college coaching ranks as we've seen with so many of those scenario's... My guess is he'll last about 2-3 years if he's a head coach in the nfl.

if Harbaugh is demanding personnel control he sure as hell isn't going to settle for OC here... but that would actually be as close to a dream scenario for me as possible, right behind him as HC and Rivera as DC.
