Some 49er fans think they can trade us Gore + a few picks for..

49er fan here who registered just to participate in this thread. The vast majority of us 49er fans realize that the price to trade up to pick Luck is too high for a team that has serious holes in just about every position. But I mostly want to point out how lucky you guys are:

1. You actually have the #1 pick in a year when other teams will want to trade up to get it. Believe me, when we had the #1 pick in 2005 and had to pick Alex Smith no other team would even pick up the phone to discuss a trade.

2. You guys traded us your #1 pick last season which ended up not being that great because your 2009 season was better than most people predicted. If we had gotten this year's pick that would have been awesome (for the 49ers). Or if you had the season you should have had in 2009 we could have drafted Bradford (we wouldn't have though, the irrational love for Alex Smith in our FO was in full swing).

Anyway, we need our draft picks over in 49er land to rebuild and we only have 4 players on our roster that would be worth anything to your guys (J. Smith, P. Willis, V. Davis and M. Iupatti) and we will pretty much need those guys because they are our only good players. So disregarding the rather poorly thought out banter taking place on the 49er MB and every other MB, there will be no trade with the 49ers for the #1 pick.

On one final note, I hope Luck works out for you guys because I have nothing against your franchise, just know that if he is a bust he will set your team back at least four years (six if your FO is clueless like ours).

Welcome

So he says this as a smokescreen (JR never does the smokescreen thing anyway) and at the same time kills all of Clausen hopes? How does this help? Kill Jimmy already fraged selfworth and then come back and say we were just kidding!!!!

Jimmy should not be a baby and prepare like he's going to start like any respectable QB.

Looks like some of Raider Nation are on the ball.

I don't care what it takes! This guy has it! He reminds me of a combination of Rich Gannon and Peyton Manning. He is going to be a superstar! Sell the farm! Trade Campbell! Do the Ricky Williams IF YOU HAVE TO! I would be happy about all our picks this year, Campbell, and our 1st next year for this guy. Let us not be satisfied with our QB play as it is!

Make a bold move for a smart kid who reads defenses quick, makes ALL the throws, has fire, has mobility. He is gonna be the next Peyton Manning! Why not draft a franchise QB for the nest 15 years? We are set at many positions. Pick up some FA in the Oline area, etc. Do what you gotta do to get this kid! Do it Al!

Yeah, I know, Al has a Campbell crush so it ain't going to happen. But it would be nice

Damn.. They want some Luck.

The #1 overall pick.....

http://forums.49ers.com/messageboard/showthread.php?t=110821

You'd think they were the Patriots or something and are one qb away from multiple SBs. While we need replacements at every position.

Seriously though, Gore? We're stacked at RB. Why the hell would we want a busted Rb with a broken hip that has been injured for seemingly most of his career?

they're crazy, maybe a reciever like Morgan and some picks, but not Gore.

I tried to join that forum and it's just retarded. It's been 2 days and my account won't activate. Piss poor administrators.

Anybody else joined up? I joined a different teams forum before this season it's pretty fun to drop knowledge on fans who don't know poo about your team and vice versa.

I've tried joining twice. The first time was two weeks before we played them this previous season. The activation is still pending.
