Drafting Dart any higher than the late first round is a reach, massive reach.  There's going to be 3 guys sitting there in the second round, Milroe, Ewers and McCord that if someone gets antsy, the price to move will be MUCH more palatable.  Honestly, the difference in Dart and the next 3 guys is minimum.

Dart has good size, throws a beautiful ball but man that system he is coming from might have fried him and installed some bad habits.

So at that point, you essentially had a quarterback who was at best uneasy with his new circumstances, and a team doing everything it could to show him they weren’t going to let him go, whether he wanted to stay.

Which brings us to where we are now. The Saints knew about this shoulder issue. What I’m less sure about is if they view it as something that was actually threatening his 2025 season. The story I’ve heard is that Carr’s camp has told people that this actually stems from his ’23 AC joint sprain, which never fully healed.

 

Update- more insight..... its fugly. It seems carr mainly came for Dennis Allen, then he was fired and the saints wanted to try to avoid paying the past can kicking one more year. They didn't ask Carr about if he wanted to stay, just did a new deal. Carr's shoulder flared up right after.

Seems they should have cut him, just a move that will haunt them for years.....just LOL
