They need a new quarterback. They need to recover players from injuries and have them bounce back strong. They need a defense to stay strong and continue to improve.

Whereas we need a new quarterback, a new interior line, an upgrade at corner, an upgrade at one of the DE spots, among other things.

The 2 teams don't compare brah

That was entirely to hard to decipher.

Basically, and I agree with him:

Talent levels roughly comparable between the teams, with Carolina having a better defense and 49ers having a better offense.

edit: and that coaching royally screwed them this year.

tell that to the 49er poster above, why don't you?

They need everything you listed too. Go look what he just said. No need to take my word for it. He right out says it. our D > theirs. Their offense > ours. However, we still have all the pieces on offense to make a good scheme work IF we recover players from injury AND get a quarterback... which is the same situation they are in.

I should neg rep your ass for going and crying to some 49ers tool because you don't know enough about what you're arguing to make your own analysis.....

Why do you think Hurney was happy with the QB play and will accept Clausen at QB next year. Just wondering....

Contract wise, that's also something too think about

but, Why wouldn't he give a 2nd rounder rookie who he had as a 1st round QB another year to draft a 1st round QB instead? Or would he take the crapshoots of offers he's likely to receive 1st this year + 2nd or 3rd/4th and a 1st and 3rd/4th next year to fill holes Carolina obviously needs to fill?

Because it's obvious Clausen can't play in this league and they won't sell tickets if they settle for Clausen at QB. Clausen's contract is hardly anything (the max it will be for is 4 years 6.83 mil if he hits all incentives lol....)You're hoping beyond hope bro, your chance at Luck went out the window a LONG time ago....

Actually 49ers Have Morgan & Crabtree as legit wideouts. If Dominique was used more consistent , would be three, Oh, & Delanie walker that falls on coaching. & Barnidge & Rosario couldn't land the kind of success Vernon had even with a better QB, just No.

--The coaching staff for the 49ers was horrible with the kind of talent the 49ers have. Doesnt take a 1st grader to realize that. Panthers coaching atleast had a pass rusher.

--49ers LB core was better than the Panthers this year.

You've got Beason against P. Willis. Who else stood out from Panthers LB core? 49ers, Spikes & Willis we're good in front of a abyismal secondary. Everyone knows the 49ers lack a Secondary+Pass rusher.

--Panthers Secondary was far better exceptionally than the 49ers this year. Just way better.

--In terms of D-Line, Panthers at least could execute a constant pass rush.

--In tune, 49ers offense>Panthers Offense.

Panthers IMO had a better defense.

--The thing is 49ers Offense can be damn good IF you had a offensive minded coach. You got RB's, You got a Pro Bowl TE, and a slew of WR's, and a O Line that'll be way better than last year. Can be Dynamic with a QB & Coach.

--The thing with "Carolina has just as much talent' An argument could be made there but SF has pieces you could utilize immediately and create a dynamic offense if you insert a QB e.g. Luck. That and being a storied franchise doesnt hurt. Carolina still has as many holes as SF does but you honestly believe Hurney gonna select Luck with that QB outing he had last year? A trade will happen & If SF lands Harbaugh, SF gonna offer lotta picks, Hurney will accept. Luck in a Carolina Jersey not gon happen

Here comes the calvary. Coaching was prime reason for our failure this season. At LB we had Dan Conner and James Anderson look like potential probowlers. Conner fell to injury. Thomas Davis has been a probowl snub for a while. When healthy that LB core is bat poo scary.

V. Davis is a better talent than Rosario and Barnidge. However under the right coach R+B can be very dangerous receiving options. Our RB trio is the best in the business. At WR Morgan and Crabtree are legit targets. We all know who Steve Smith is but don't underestimate Gettis and LaFell. They faired far better than anyone expected this season and much better than other WR's selected earlier. QB play put everyone's numbers way down.

I'm gonna go ahead and say your NT is better than what we've got at DT, since we've field nothing there but poo for 2 years. However at DE Greg Hardy has scary potential, Charles Johnson is now an 11.5 sack player, though E. Brown needs another year. We've got pass rushers up the wazzoo it's DT where we need the help.

I don't really know how to grade our offensive line as of yet but I think we all now know that Otah was a much bigger piece than previously thought. Pass protection was crap for most of the year. I'm afraid Gross maybe falling off but he is coming off of injury. QB play is also part of line play. Wharton and Kalil are great players.

Gamble and Munnerlyn are good corners. Martin will be a great FS. Jury is still out on Godfrey, he makes a great play then blows a coverage. However he creates turnovers, can't deny that, I think he had 5-6 picks on the year? Marshall, don't care anymore, he could be good. He once looked very promising but anytime someone has been getting beat this year it has usually been Marshall.

Because Clausen is literally the worst QB in the NFL this year. He was abysmal. He showed virtually NO signs of "future of the franchise" material, he left a TON of question marks, he lacked confidence to execute just about anything on offense, he fumbled through basics of the position, he showed little growth at all and had numerous step backs whenever he did anything positive, and perhaps most disconcerting of all, showed a propensity to becoming easily rattled midway through the season when pressure got to him. Finally, his contract is not that large and it's a 2nd rounder; there is a good chance he will be on the team next year but I don't see him going in as the "direction of the team."

In his first year, you really can't judge a rookie entirely. He struggled in his first year at Notre Dame. Hurney obviously knows that with his earlier in the year comments about Clausen

If Harbaugh Lands In SF, a trade will be inevitable between SF & Carolina. It's a dice roll.

WWOOOWW.

 @ your emotional ass post. Are you mad right now?

Show me where I am crying to some "49ers tool". I dont even know what made you say that

And I have stated my own opinions in this thread. There is no more analysis needed because stans like you are going to think how you think regardless. You cant accept the fact that the Panthers suck. Any thing that is said that goes against how you think and feel about the Panthers is automatically going to get dismissed in your mind b/c this team is probably your life. Kind of sad that you cant debate sports without getting emotional
