NFC South Pick Challenge (FINAL YTD COMING)

Thank you to all who participated. We had some great numbers this year, especially early in the season. All in all, the response to our first year including all four NFC South boards was fantastic. A few hiccups got worked out along the way due to volume and most everyone did their part to make the calculations as simple as possible. A big THANKS for that!

As you all know, the season champ this year will get their choice of any Premier NFL Jersey available on NFLshop.com. Due to this, our contest administrator is working overtime to recalculate the computerized and manual results and cross compare them in order to be absolutely correct. The competition got pretty tight so even a game or two difference could change the outcome. Because of this desire for accuracy the final year end report may not be published until the week of 1/9/10, at the earliest.

We want to be sure its 100% correct. So far, no errors found, affected any of the top 10 in the running. Most important, no program problems (our contest IT did a fantastic job). We are now putting the final touches on the year end report format.

Thank you for your patience and thanks again for a great inaugural season. Due to the response and professionalism, we will definitely be back next year (as long as there is football in 2011...)

    • Karlaftis and Danna have been pretty inconsistent so teams have been doubling Jones and able to contain their pass rush.   But the good thing is that yesterday, we schemed well against Steve Spags Defense, Canales married the surrounding personnel with his QB through play designs within his comfort zone and was able to get downfield at will.  He was able to execute higher difficulty throws and look a lot more comfortable.  It tells me that Canales has a good system in mind, and had an edge gameplanning wise against Spagnuolo - which is nice to see.  It's a bit to see-saw at times with either going way too pass heavy or way too run heavy, but I think he's finding out what works.  It takes time to have it come together, and sure, I could see regression happen against a better front-7, but this was good for the entire system gelling.
    • This was evident first two weeks of season. I don’t see any issues with physical tools since he came back. I think he is a player that must play with confidence to overcome those size limitations and he’s doing that.
    • Still 3-10 on passes over 15 yards.  At least he's not scared to merely attempt them anymore.  Where I see improvement is the 10-15 yard range.  He was 6-6.  Bryce of old was scatter shot on anything beyond 10 yards and the further out, the worse the accuracy.
