Harbaugh Leaning Towards NFL Per Schefter

LMAO, typical ESPN. That's why I never even got into the Insider stuff, because they just leech off of local papers for the most part. But then they have guys like Schefter and Mort making reports from their "sources" which often flip flop anyway.

Just like Sparano was going to be fired regardless of what happened 2 weeks ago according to Mort and Schef, then last week he was safe, and now he's on the hot seat again. Same with Jason Garrett.

They really do just fling poo at the wall and hope something sticks and it pisses me off they do it with our team chalking it up to being "cheap."

I do think it is funny because ESPN seems to think we are not a very good franchise yet I always hear we are widely regarded in league circles for having a good owner and a good franchise, so it makes you wonder...

JR just isn't out there with quotables I guess.

Well, I don't know that they don't think we're a good franchise, I just think they're differentiating between good/bad and big/mid-small markets. They don't care about the little guys, even though we're just above the mid-market level IIRC (14th I think).

the fact that gantt says he is in play and that Jerry rich wants PSL owners to think that he is doing everything possible to make Carolina relevant as an offly convenient coincidence that is found far too often with Darin.

Darin tells what daddy Panther tells him to tell.

Don't get excited about things DG writes. He is merely a sounding board for Panther FO propaganda

that stupid fvcker probably still wants jake delhomme to take all the reps in Spartanburg next summer

If this was the case, then why would he tell Darin to write that Bill Cowher never was wanted....that's the guy who has the most name recognition.

Scott Fowler weighs in:

I've learned a lot about both Luck and Harbaugh while in Florida. Ultimately, I don't think they're both going to end up as Carolina Panthers -- one as the quarterback, the other as coach -- although the idea is so intriguing. An online betting service listed the odds of that happening as 5-1 the other day, and that's about right.

...And then there's the fact that Panthers GM Marty Hurney would apparently prefer to hire an established NFL coordinator type -- in other words, what John Fox was in 2002 -- rather than a college head coach.

"apparently" makes me question where he is getting his info from.

Guys, I want Harbaugh, too.....but an under the radar assistant could turn out to be the next Mike Smith.

Most of our worlds won't end if it isn't Harbaugh, but it's something to follow anyway.

I prefer him, because something about his attitude is catchy, but I'll live with someone else.

If we get Harbaugh it might be like having a young Cowher. I have read where he has that attitude where he preaches aggressive hard hitting football.

I love how when someone like Schefty says that Harbaugh isn't coming here, people jump on him but when someone says that Harbaugh is in the mix here, that person gets praised.

Fact is, this forum is so biased its ridiculous, its like fans want to hear what they want to hear and not take anything else seriously...

There are other candidates, you know? To say that none of them wouldn't be successful but Harbaugh will is stupid considering that like most of the candidates he hasn't been a HC in this league

Again college and pros are completely different levels

my thoughts exactly. it really doesn't make any sense to not even interview the guy though.
