I was under the impression that on offense, the only position where Stanford was really head and shoulders above was quarterback, the rest was coaching. I could be wrong though, because I don't follow Pac-10 and have only seen Stanford a few times.

My point is the short passing game that was so bemoaned is now the best thing since ice cream and sliced bread.

They have a good offensive line, mostly because of their chemistry and time together, but the rest of their offense is nothing special. They have great coaching that puts players into position to make plays. The only WOW guy on their team is definitely Luck. It also helps to have a QB who can get the ball to his guys in space to make plays......

what?? I think you're confused.

short passing game != check downs to a back... How you can compare what Stanford is doing to what our playcalls are is beyond me.

Many of us WANTED a short passing game, but that is NOT what we got... A good example was if you watched the Stl game... the difference in play calling etc...
