We got lynched in effigy by Freddy the Falcon during pregame

During pregame Atlanta's mascot drove a stuffed panthers fan around on the back of an ATV, ran over it, then tied it to the back with a long rope and drove it around the end zone.

you lynched a panthers fan in effigy in the middle of civil rights country.

I'm surprised they didn't hang it from the cross bar and set it on fire.

Freddy is a cross-dressing hermaphrodite....

that is all

I'm all for trashing mascots for the pre-game. In fact, I would love to put a live falcon in with a live panther on the 50-yard line.

I would think that African-American Falcons fans in particular would object to this sort of display (and maybe they do)... but I guess that's the double-standard that exists in our society, it's okay to simulate a lynching as long as it's done by the football team you're rooting for?

A team that represents the capital of the same state where the KKK is headquartered should go out of their way to avoid this sort of thing.

Imagine if Green Bay (a predominantly white fan-base) had lynched a dummy dressed up like a Falcons fan before a game... Houston, we have a problem.

As others have said: STAY CLASSY, ATLANTA.

Exactly. Just like how the N word is used. Some think their allowed to say it, when they are really creating a double standard and seriously worsening the situation with confusion and tension. Imagine if a tailgater was doing that in the parking lot, they'd be stopped and at least fined if not kicked out.

Thing about these types of jokes is some people are not offended at all, including myself. But people have a hard time looking past themselves and consider if someone else might be offended. You just don't do these things our of respect not because no one is or isn't offended.

On top of all that, it's just a classless thing to do - which is exactly what I've come to expect from Atlanta.

I know the Bucs are supposed to be our main rival but I HATE the Falcons... dislike the Bucs, HATE the Falcons.

Best thing that could happen this post-season would be to watch Vick roll into town and end their season, MUUUAHAHAHAHA!

Best thing for me was they had frisbee dogs at halftime. I told the fans around me, "hey, why don't they put all the dogs together, throw one frisbee, then let them FIGHT over it? Get it?"

Another fan told us how much we sucked and my girlfriend said, "At least our players don't fight dogs."

Everybody uses the N word nowadays, so much its about to be non-censored on Tv stations

Yeah, I heard that as part of fan appreciation day they chose the frisbee dog show over a performance by the cheerleaders... that tells you something about Atlanta.
