Or we could have drafted...

Mike Williams: 61 receptions, 924 yards, 10 touchdowns

OVER

Armanti Edwards: 0 receptions, 0 yards, 0 touchdowns.

But Hurney knows what he is doing guys, it's ok. :out:

yea everyone and alot of carolina fans were rooting for us to draft armanti. maybe they felt the pressure, but who cares armanti is good as gone.

Just a look back at all the complaints people had about drafting receivers earlier in the year. People wanted 2 players in perticular...

Mardy Gillyard - 6 rec 63 yards.

Golden Tate - 20 Rec 224 yards...

Our recievers...

Brandon Lafell - 38 Rec 468

David Gettis - 37 - 508

Hey, I think we did an okay job at the reciever position this time ;)

This is a really dumb logical fallacy because our receivers were forced to play. There was nobody else behind them, so what did you expect?

meh....seahawks nor the rams had anything special ahead of them. both guys had every opportunity to be used as much but weren't. tate was lazy and gilyard is fragile.

Also, keep in mind that we could have drafted Dez Bryant if we had held on to the pick we traded for Everette Brown. I remember there were at least a couple of people who laughed when I guaranteed that Dez Bryant would do more for the Cowboys this season than Brown would for us.

Dez Bryant stats through just 12 games (rookie season, missed the final 4 due to injury):

45 catches for 561 yards, 6 TDs

2 punt returns for TDs

Everette Brown 2010 stats (2nd year in the league):

25 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 forced fumble, 1 pick

But yeah, Marty Hurney is this awesome guy with awesome picks. Who needs Dez Bryant when we have Everette Brown?

Just crossed the wire, Mike Williams was just picked up for another 3 years according to ESPN.

weren't both Gillyard and Tate buried on there teams depth charts?

This...

I bet you LaFell has more drops than most other rookie WRs combined, and nearly every other WR drafted did more than AE did all year... even Gilyard contributed a lot on special teams...

The logic in this thread is full of fail... LaFell and Gettis both pretty much were our #2 at some point during the year, and the guys behind them did basically nothing...

That said, I am proud of what LaFell and Gettis both got done this year, and hopefully it will keep them ahead of the pack...

Blah blah blah Dez Bryant

There was no way we would have drafted Dez Bryant even if we had a first round pick. Character issues.

Also, how about this stat? No team in the league was composed of a team's draft picks more than the Panthers were this season. And that team filled with nothing but Hurney draft picks went 2-14, worst record in football.

Having your roster mainly made up of your own draft picks is highly desirable and a sign of success in the organization. If you HONESTLY think our 2-14 record is attributable more to our draft picks than to Fox, JR, Veteran purge, lack of FA spending, horrible OC, etc then you're blind.

Dez Bryant was a first round pick, and the top prospect at his position. How is that even a relevant comparison?

Most people said our biggest need was receiver and the best receiving prospect in many years was right there where we would have been picking if we hadn't foolishly traded for Everette Brown, a useless guy that sees the field less than Sean Gilbert did.

Nice guy though.
