While I would prefer an offensive minded coach, this would be a great hire for our franchise I believe. He would make our defense one of the best in the NFL, and having seen the difference between having a franchise QB (Rivers) and not having one (Grossman), I'm sure he would understand the need to draft Luck.

Crazy Theory: We have already agreed (unofficially) on a head coach and he insists that we bring in a top DC. So Rivera interviews as a head coach to satisfy the Rooney Rule, and is offered DC/Assistant Head Coach.

Rivera being offered a DC spot is plausible, but I wouldn't bet on us having any agreement yet.

But make no mistake, Rivera is a viable head coaching candidate.

Smart move by the FO interviewing Rivera first. He's a RR canditate and if

he's the man you want.....hire him. If his interview doesn't work out..... then

your free to hire the first one that knocks your socks off on the spot.

Why would Weiss take an OC job in college? He could easily get that position anywhere in the NFL or possibly HC in the NFL.

I would love to have him as our coach his D are always good pair him with a good OC and we should be good to go.
