Panthers interviewing Ron Rivera

Have the offensive minded HC take care of the offensive side and Rivera take care of the defensive side. Rivera is one of the elite 4-3 DC in the league. Im sure just about any HC candidate wouldn't mind him doing that.

I guess JR already talked to Harbaugh and he said, "Get me an elite DC and I'm there after the bowl game, signed, sealed, delivered."

What better way for Harbaugh to get started as an NFL HC then to take a job where he can immediatley draft his franchise QB?

Im sure the FO want to get the next hire in soon because the senior bowl is coming up and the new staff wants to evaluate their personnel better in order to determine priority of needs.

Alot of things have already taken place. If they have talked to Harbaugh (which is legal) they could have cleared that with him already (just saying). Im sure it is for the HC positon but they could drop the option of DC/assistant to him in the interview and see what he says. Hurney and crew has had a year to prepare for this moment. This thing should go pretty quickly if everything goes according to their plan.

Yup, I'm certain Hurney and co. have been lining things up for months waiting for the clock to wind down so they can put things into motion...

Exactly, the timing is more than coincidence and my guess is that Harbaugh wanted a commitment from the Panthers that he would have full control over the staff which is why they made a public announcement that the entire coaching staff would be let go after the season...
