Cut it out

LOL:D

I'm not allowed to rain on the parade Kurb?

Seriously though, I wouldn't hate the hiring, but I want us to give the hiring thorough look. I will be seriously pissed if he is the end all, be all for candidates. I think he's a good coach and actually wanted him a couple years ago, but I Harbaugh should at least get a look, along with some other offensive guys.

why would rivera make a lateral move from SAN DIEGO... to HERE.

Makes sense as only a head coach interview.

San Diego is a 3-4 and although he's still been a good coordinator there, 4-3 is his specialty. However, it would be great either way to hire him as HC or DC.

The Rooney Rule is a joke. How many minority candidates sit through a "token" interview knowing the team is going in a different direction anyway, just following the rules. It's stupid to force the issue, when it looks like minority head coaches are showing up around the league due to their own merits, not BS politics.

I do feel bad for the guys called in just to meet a requirement.

I agree, but there are starting to slowly be more head coaches in the collegiate ranks and as that progresses more qualified candidates will enter into the NFL coaching pool

He is just the first interviewee I think they will interview Harbaugh and some other coaches. But they need to strike quickly so they can get the best options.

Also, for those that think is for DC. Why the F would we interview him for DC when we don't have a HC yet? Wouldn't the HC want his own guy?

Not if it's a offensive minded coach *cough* Harbaugh *cough*

Have the offensive minded HC take care of the offensive side and Rivera take care of the defensive side. Rivera is one of the elite 4-3 DC in the league. Im sure just about any HC candidate wouldn't mind him doing that.

I wouls rather have an agressive OC or DC as coach than Harbaugh. People are forgetting that there have been unbelievably few college coaches that made the jump and were anything but a joke.

Not saying that Harbaugh would be a success or not...+nly that history is not in the favor of a colledge coach.

The college game and pro game are completely different animals.

Agreed, Look at Dallas, they are going to interview their WRs coach to comply.

Alot of things have already taken place. If they have talked to Harbaugh (which is legal) they could have cleared that with him already (just saying). Im sure it is for the HC positon but they could drop the option of DC/assistant to him in the interview and see what he says. Hurney and crew has had a year to prepare for this moment. This thing should go pretty quickly if everything goes according to their plan.

I think we've already got a deal in place with Harbaugh and we're doing the Rivera interview simply to satisfy the Rooney rule...

What better way for Harbaugh to get started as an NFL HC then to take a job where he can immediatley draft his franchise QB?
