So mark carrier and Willie Green help Kerry have a 11 more td 20 point higher QB rating and 4-5 more wins?

His rating was only 3-4 points higher. Collins had a 62 qb rating in 95, Clausen's was 58 this year.

And yes, having a group of veteran receivers certainly played a part in Collins having better numbers. Hard to believe anyone would doubt that. Not that I think Clausen is a franchise qb, but then neither was Collins.

Also, didn't Carrier and Green help take us to a NFC championship game. They weren't hall of famers, but they were a decent pair of receivers for us.

He's a rookie, throwing to rookie WRs. He's got a terrible OC, a makeshift OL, and a QB coach who loves overcomplicating things.

So what I'm basically saying is, he may suck, but he may not. There are so many variables at work this year that you really can't get a fair bead on anyone.

What we should all really hope for is that he comes back, plays well enough to start ahead of our shiny new rookie for the first half of the season, then gracefully bows out and the Luck era begins. If that happens, we get at least a second for him.

I'm confident he sucks. There will be pandemonium if we draft Luck and start Clausen. Maybe let him hang around, but I hope our next coach can evaluate QBs better than or previous coaches could. If he sees nothing in Clausen, I say let him go.

No one who saw Collins play in 95 and actually remembers it would say he was as bad as Clausen. First of all as a starter he went 7-6 and put together a 4 game win streak. Secondly we averaged over 20 points a game when he started. Third he had 4 multi-touchdown games. Sure he had some multipick games as well but threw it down the field and played to win. Collins as a rookie showed promise moving the offense and had a strong arm.

You guys know how Clausen played so there is no need to rehash the misery again. Now if we were comparing Clausen to David Carr then we have a pretty fair comparison.

Clausen played great during the Pre-season. It went all downhill after that.

Well, the problem is Pike was pick the same year along with Clausen. I don't know if Panthers will get rid of him after our next season. But I wouldn't have no problem getting rid of Pike & getting someone like Jake back or Hasselbeck as backup mentor. It just getting rid of Pike probably won't happend, so I'm just putting what could likely happend.
