15 games played 433 att 214 comp 14 td 19 int's 2,717 yards 181 yards a game 73.6 QB rating.

Now I don't remeber his supporting cast but they weren't that great (for a 1st year franchise). He did have a good def. But you saw improvement over the season. My point is we have a chance at finally drafting a 1st round QB again. Maybe we should go this route because what, we have been doing since then is plugging in stop gap and bargin QB in the most improtant postition on the field.

I kid, I kid.

I did see some promise from Clausen today. But if Luck comes out, you do not pass up on him. Ideally, Clausen will continue to improve and we'll also work to solidify the offensive line. Maybe he'd be a good backup, but I just don't see him as starter material yet.

If anything, maybe Clausen showed just enough to convince the next coach he's worth sticking around as a project. I see next year's quarterbacks being Luck, Clausen and a vet.

I agree.

I fully expect Clausen to start drinking and throwing out racial slurs next season.

Now I'm not saying he wasn't and ahole but since that bad moment in S-burg.

He's kept his nose clean and been a solid QB.

Maybe if Polian was still here and we, had a better support system 2 help him with his off the field demons. We would have back 2 back winning season.

Smart choice there. I hope you're not saying Matt Moore is a vet on that list, since he suck now. :P

But we need a good vet QB if the money is right. If no vet QB, then I hope we'll be ok with the 3rd guy being Pike. I don't think we're going to get rid of Clausen & Pike, but Moore surely won't be coming back thankfully.

138/266 for a 51.9% completion rate 1,376 yards 5.2 avg 2 TD's 8 INT's 58.6 rating over 12 games for Clausen.

Collins was miles better. Supporting cast may be similar. Will require more research (which i don't feel like doing).

Translation: We need a QB.

Collins compteted 49% of his passes, threw 14 td's and 19 int's with a 6.2 average. He started more games, and threw more passes than Clausen. Overall, he was a little better, but not by much.

Collins had more of a veteran group of receivers. Clausen has a better running game.

Having veteran receivers is a important plus for a young qb. Just look at how Matt Moore performed last year with Moose and Smith compared to this year with only one veteran receiver. I am not saying thats the only difference, but I do feel its one that is more important than most of realize.

So mark carrier and Willie Green help Kerry have a 11 more td 20 point higher QB rating and 4-5 more wins?

Jimmy Clausen needs to be released. I can't be optimistic about this team's future knowing we are an injury or two away from him playing again.

He's a rookie, throwing to rookie WRs. He's got a terrible OC, a makeshift OL, and a QB coach who loves overcomplicating things.

So what I'm basically saying is, he may suck, but he may not. There are so many variables at work this year that you really can't get a fair bead on anyone.

What we should all really hope for is that he comes back, plays well enough to start ahead of our shiny new rookie for the first half of the season, then gracefully bows out and the Luck era begins. If that happens, we get at least a second for him.

    • 100% even if rest of team is really talented if they march young out to be qb and he plays like he has for 90% of his starts the panthers have already lost doesnt even matter how good the rest of the team is or isnt and also makes it hard to even tell how good they are.  They need true competition for young this offseason.
    • It will be awesome to have an improved stadium to lose in I guess....   https://www.yahoo.com/news/panthers-file-rezoning-bank-america-111500840.html     The Carolina Panthers have taken another necessary step toward renovating their home of the present and future. Panthers Stadium, LLC, filed its rezoning site plan with the city of Charlotte on Monday, initiating an important — if mostly technical — step toward renovating Bank of America Stadium. The filings state that the rezoning relates “primarily to technical aspects associated with improvements to Bank of America Stadium,” and that the rezoning is required because “the current stadium zoning is out of date” for the team’s stadium renovation plans.   The planned stadium updates include new seats installed throughout the upper and lower bowls; stadium safety and security enhancements; a reimagined South Lawn Pavilion; upgraded restrooms; exterior enhancements (including LED video boards) and more. Planning for the stadium renovation project will continue through 2025, with construction starting in 2026 and the renovation’s conclusion in 2029, The Observer previously reported.
