I understand not liking the guy, but with so many other needs on this team is it in our better interest to add another need. Who replaces him? I think with a better offense our defense is an above average defense in the NFL... I would hope things get worked out so were not subtracting on that side of the ball, just adding.

That's just how I feel. He was a very good Nickel back but at Corner he was sub par IMO. I honestly feel that Captain could start in his place and do just fine and also Captain doesn't have half the attitude Marshall does.

When Captain starts our Nickelback play SUCKS. McClain and CJ Wilson have been getting destroyed playing the slot.

He did, but he apparently doesn't think they'll keep him.

I wouldn't proclaim him "gone" just yet myself, but it's definitely possible.

The last sentence in that article is interesting. Which other players are being let go or not re-signed? Who else is Drew representing who would be a FA?

Marshall wanted good CB money, and with gamble with a contract and munnerlyn (sp) playing very well of late, the panthers arn't going to pay him what drew rosenhaus wants. Munnerlyn and gamble are much better tacklers than him anyway.

I don't get some of the people here at times. 85% of you all saying good riddance where happy that he said he wanted a long-term contract. Now that he has changed his tune...the same people are saying how horrible and overrated he is and that he is finally gone.

marshall is abysmal at tackling. I'm not say gamble is amazing, but he def is more reliable than marshal.

Gamble has gotten far better at tackling and in run support.

Marshall was solid, but definitely replaceable. I'm a Munnerlyn homer and hope he gets the starting spot and we go get a good nickel and dime CB.
