armanti edwards!

Recommended Posts

AE has been here all year and still has not learned to catch a freaking punt!

And they want him to play WR!

The only reason that I can see why the guy was even drafted was to have a player from ASU and the Southern Conference to sell jerseys. That's over, get rid of the experiment already.

Took Devin Hester a couple of years to start looking like a WR after he was converted from DB. That was a conversion from a position where they normally run up and down the field as much as a WR.

Obviously Devin Hester had the whole probowl quality returner thing going for him from the outset and he's still not a great WR, but all of that's beside the point. Point is he was one of these athletic project guys more than anything else and improved notably at his position after having some time there.

Right now Edwards was a bad pick. We won't know for a year or two whether or not he's a lost one.

The problem as I see it is this. A) Who could the Panther COULD have picked in the 3rd round if they didn't pick Edwards? B) Hard to judge Edwards when whe was active/eligible for what, 3 games? C) in 2-3 years if/when he becomes comfortable in his position, his contract will be up and he will probably sign with another team.

All teams, even the Colts and Patriots draft a "Project" player. The one that you hope will pan out and is a reach at the position in the draft. Edwards was magnified due to the poor performance of the entire team this season.

many people would love to debate those issues.. and that's fine.. but their issue shouldn't focus on Armanti so much as it should be on Hurney..

whether Armanti was drafted in the 1st round or the 5th round, he was always going to take 2-4 years to develop..

I know it's nitpicking, and doesn't really matter, but you can really only count the 2nd round pick. If not for the trade of the 2nd round pick, we wouldn't have had that pick to make.

you point is moot when talking about Edwards himself.. did you read my response?

and what I think you meant to say was a second and third round pick, the upside had better be massive.. (You left out the 3rd pick where he was actually picked)

regardless of where he was picked, it's who picked him that you should focus your attention on..

now if you want to talk about Hurney making that pick, go for it..

but even if he went in the 1st round, Armanti Edwards wasn't going to be an instant home run.. expect him to take 2-3 more years to be a be an impact player at the NFL level.. regardless of his draft position..

Who drafted him, why he was drafted so early, what position is he going to play; blame the draftor, not the draftee. Wanna know what really matters?

He is not an NFL-caliber football player and should not be in a uni next season.

Regardless.... The NFL is far to competitive to be drafting 'porjects'. You don't have the luxury of developing a second rounder...he should be ready to contribute with minimal direction. You want a WR draft one, you want an LB draft one....

Just saying your assumption isn't really valid its more of an opinion and a lousy one at that.

Great, you just ruined my day by being another asshole who thinks his opinion is more important than someone else's. How do I get to be as friggin' unbelievably awesome as you think you are?
