January Transfer Window

The transfer opened yesterday and so far the biggest name in the MLS looks like he is on his move to White Hart Lane.

Premier League - Beckham 'on verge of £1.5m deal' to join Spurs

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp confirmed on Saturday that the Beckham wants to make the move, saying, "he just said he'd like to come and play here at Tottenham" after Spurs beat Fulham 1-0 to move up to fourth in the Premier League.

Sunday's newspapers widely report that Beckham's move is all-but-finalised, with the 35-year-old expected to become Tottenham's highest-paid player on £120,000-a-week when he signs a three-month loan deal. The loan is expected to be in place in time for Beckham to take part in Spurs' match against Manchester United on January 16.

As most of the football fans on here know, you can't trust any rumors out there until the papers are signed.

Will keep this thread updated when the big deals go down.

I wouldn't mind having him, but that price tag is kind of scary, even if only for 2 or 3 months. We absolutely need a world-class striker moreso than anything else. Pav is not getting it done, Defoe just came back from injury, Crouch is a one-man clown troupe, and Keane... no, just no.

If he comes to the Lane, fine and dandy, but we'd better have cash still to get that striker we need. Some names being tossed around are Dzeko, Llorente, and Suarez by our fans. Personally, I think Llorente would be best, but not sure they'll go for him with this talk of Becks.

The biggest and richest move in history of BL was Edin Dzeko from Bundes Liga to Manchester City. If they play him right, watch out. He's tailor made for English football

Guy has all the talent in the world. But once again City has too many players.

They must move Adebayor to free up some playing time for Dzeko.

The guy's got balls though, taunting United right after signing lol.

Darren Bent close to astonishing £24m move from Sunderland to Aston Villa

Sunderland were on Monday night close to accepting an astonishing £24 million bid from Aston Villa for striker Darren Bent in a move which could finally kick-start the January transfer window.

The striker was in the Midlands on Monday night to negotiate personal terms and undergo a medical although there was no formal confirmation from either club that a deal had been agreed.

So, we got a Wing/CAM, and a Defender... missed on Beckham, and just dropped out of the FA cup.

And still no mother-*&^ing Striker!! Just what exactly would it take to have them wake up and realize our guys aren't getting it done? That Pav is just a guy who occasionally gets lucky enough to be in the right place? Gah!

Well.. there's always Summer... :(
