Glazer Foxy "quotes"

My perspective he had to clean up Foxy's mess instead of crippling the future. Getting good young talent builds this team for the long term. And there will be money to fill in the holes next year.

This is silly.

If he felt that way about Fox it is his duty as an owner to fix it. If Fox was destroying this team then you can him immediately. The owner is the one responsible for putting a winning combination on the field, coaches included.

JR went cheap because of the CBA not because he is cleaning up Fox's mess

Fox had plenty of talent to win games this year. JR is not cheap and has lost big money on opening up the checkbook in the past. If I paid Fox 5-6 mil I'd be livid for what I had received. Whoever gets Fox will be and should be pissed... He's nothing more than Haslett 2.0

I don't buy at all that Fox has some deep reservoir of desire-to-win-in-2010 that JR does not have. Look at the ridiculous inflexible way he is going about banging the team's head against the wall no matter the opponent, no matter what the actual roster situation is like, and so on. Of course this is nothing new, but Fox is not giving his all to win every game. He's sort of trying to win a game and definitely trying to make a point. Today is a happy day, because it will be over soon.

Its true that Fox had the talent to win games this year. This team was coachable. The Bucs had the 2nd youngest team in the league. Look how good they did this year. Yes JR went young this year and cheaper, but he also thought we were way better than this. You can play Captain Hindsight all you want, but alot of people here thought we were way better than this too.

From what JR has said, the CBA is not the only reason he did what he did this year. He gave Fox everything he could for the previous two years to try to get this team to the Superbowl. Fox knew as early as 2008 that he had to win and win big in order to get the extension at the level he wanted. The team was aging and it was clear the team would need to move in a different direction, especially when it became clear Jake was unable to return to form after that loss. So, they cut some veterans and moved on with a youth movement. Fox wasn't entirely on board with it, and he was offered the chance to seek employment elsewhere according to sources but decided to come back and coach up the team. JR would honor the last year of his contract. The team went very young, expecting that Fox and his coaches, who IMO are paid very well, would coach these guys up and give us a respectable product on the field and at least some excitement about a young team. We know how that went. Absolve Fox if you want but he did have a choice here and, in addition to that, the team is far better than it's record. It may not be a great team but I think a lot of what we see has to do with coaching.

I think JR went a bit cheap consciously but I think much more of it had to do with his desire to go young. If we hadn't had any CBA issues, he wouldn't be called cheap because he woulda locked down a lot of our big names already... people would see this youth movement for what it was, as opposed to thinking it was purely a cost cutting measure.

It would be very difficult to name a team with less talent than the Panthers had this year. You would be lying to yourself if you did.

Hindsight please

I predicted 5-6 wins as did many others and that was based on Clausen being decent and a healthier team. Injuries and a bust in the draft kept us at 2 wins instead of 5 or 6. Big deal.

New coach will have Luck and likely a dozen other additions and changes.

The Bills, 49er's, Rams, Browns, Cardinals, and Seahawks are all less talented than the Panthers are and have won more games.

You could probably also throw in the Lions and maybe even the Bucs. There is talent all over this team it is just not utilized properly.

Buffalo?? but of course you'll say im lying to myself because that's the only defense you have so that you come out looking good.
