John,

You made me laugh you made me cry.

You made me jump for joy and you made me want to scream at the top of my lungs.

The day we beat the Falcons with Chris Weinke (or without him in a sense) and Super Bowl 38 will be some of the greatest memories I'll ever have.

You know how the game is played and even though the situation wasn't ideal for ANYONE, you stuck through it.

You have my respect as the most winning coach in Panthers history and good luck to where ever you go. Thank you for everything you've done.

I agree it was time to move on. Thanks to Foxy for all that you did for the team. Just like anything it had it's ups and downs, but the majority of the Panther's memories my family has, both good and bad, came during Fox's tenure. Good luck to Coach Fox on his future ventures.

Best of luck Foxy. I appreciate your approach to the game and the way you dealt with players. You took a 1-15 team and helped build it to within a whisper of Super Bowl champions. Most of all through all the ups and downs you were (and are) a class act.

It's time for a change, and I wish you the absolute best.

Fox took this team over when they were 100% irrelevant on the national scale and created such lofty expectations for himself that he eventually fell victim to them. I don't say it is the wrong decision to fire him, because his time has come, but you will find FAR too many Panther fans that dismiss his contributions.

Fox was a few good breaks from winning a Super Bowl here. He created a winning atmosphere every second season.

I am excited for the future though and hope that our next head coach can take over where Fox was never able to and create a consistent playoff atmosphere.

Thanks for the near decade, John Fox. It was a bumpy ride, but it sure was a good one. You're the best we've had and you'll be hard to replace. Thanks for giving our team an identity and for shedding the "expansion team" tag. And thanks for bringing in and bringing up some of the most exciting players we've seen.

Good luck with your next gig.

People don't understand how young and irrelevant this franchise was before he got here.

We were only 6 years old.

Fox's tenure here is longer than that.

He made us into a legitimate NFL Franchise.

We aren't viewed as "that new team" anymore, a point the Texans are just now starting to reach. He'll always be a "Founding Father" of this team.
